A poll reported by (and conducted for) ConservativeHome shows that a majority of Conservative Party members want the UK OUT of the EU and a whopping 75% think the Eurozone needs to be broken up rather than see fiscal consolidation of power:

Quoting this new ConservativeHome poll The Sunday Telegraph declares that “Euroscepticism is resurgent within the Tory party”. Arguing that Britain should use the Eurozone crisis to renegotiate our relationship with Brussels, it notes that, while the Liberal Democrats may be resistant, the Tory leadership would “have the country firmly behind it”.

An earlier poll by Angus Reid says two thirds of Tories want out of the EU altogether and that half would vote YES in a referendum.  That is outrageous not to allow the people’s will be heard.  UKIP could make that the issue in the next General Election…

ConservativeHome also reported these nine Tory MPs have called for Britain to get out of the EU:

  1. Peter Bone (Wellingborough)
  2. Douglas Carswell (Clacton)
  3. Phillip Davies (Shipley)
  4. Richard Drax (South Dorset)
  5. Gordon Henderson (Sittingbourne & Sheppey)
  6. Phillip Hollobone (Kettering)
  7. David Nuttall (Bury North)  [BLOGGER’S NOTE – He’s a Young Turk of the Tory Party!]
  8. Andrew Percy (Brigg & Goole)
  9. Laurence Robertson (Tewkesbury).

Well, now the guys might have to watch their language!  MP Heather Wheeler (South Derbyshire) has joined the patriotic/anti-EU MP group!  I know there are more MPs that agree.  I liked this comment on the ConservativeHome site:

But Dave’s [PM David Cameron] not listening, yet. We have to seriously up the ante.

I’ve heard about many disillusioned former Tory activists, who have defected to UKIP. There is huge potential to reclaim their allegiance by DC taking a firm stance.

Yes, those 60% of Tory regulars DO have a place to go:  UKIP

Also the Freedom Association (a libertarian group I’d join if I liked in UK) has a great anti-EU campaign (any non-racist anti-EU campaign is great!) here’s the site and here’s the TFA site!

I like this part of their introduction – it states my case well:

Would we be better off out of the European Union?

The EU is not a recipe for prosperity. It is not a recipe for jobs.

The EU is encroaching on our criminal justice system eroding English common law and slicing away our protections against an overweening state.

The EU is not a recipe for freedom.  It promotes the power of the state over citizens.

I believe the UK ought to form a free trade zone with other English-speaking nations and then they don’t need the EU.  Eventually the EU will die a natural death or be exposed for the tyranny it is and return to the free trade/open borders zone that the EEC started out as and the UK could join it as well.  As being a part of BOTH zones, the UK would gain millions in jobs.
