SLATING and EXCLUSION in the GOP: REMEMBER – PEOPLE do have a PLACE to GO: The LIBERTARIAN PARTY

I am hearing several reports, not all confirmed, of slating delegates, setting up unit rules to vote in a bloc, excluding delegates from GOP conventions and similar behavior throughout the Commonwealth.  Here is a blog post with one such incident in Virginia Beach.

I won’t say who is behind it because I do not know.  But I do know this:  People today have choices.  Slating is rude and counterproductive.  Excluding people will simply weaken the party.

Here is a choice some GOP leaders won’t like: Robert Sarvis for US Senate.

And more bad news:  Xavian Draper is the LP candidate in the 1st Congressional District, James Carr in the 7th, Jeffrey Carson in the 8th, and Marc Harrold in the 11th.  There is a convention in the 10th CD with Bill Redpath as a likely candidate set for April 5.  I am not endorsing any of these candidates, including Sarvis, but Draper and Sarvis are impressive.  See this positive blog post on Draper from a more national security conservative blog.  Here is the LPVa site for all the candidates.

But I do think Sarvis will get on the ballot for US Senate.  I am not at this time endorsing anyone except I like Shak Hill and Dr. David Brat.  But I did not sign up to be a delegate for a number of reasons:  Distance away, family time, but most importantly, I wanted to keep my options open in the US Senate race.

So keep slating delegates and turning people away and the GOP will ensure more support and votes for Sarvis and the LPers running for Congress.  Or people will stay home instead.

UPDATE:  More bad news for the slating GOP:  Allen Knapp is seeking the nomination for the LP in the Second Congressional District.  Here’s his FB page.  (Blogger’s note – My likes are for informational purposes only!)
