Most people are so gullible.
The media made a big deal out of 4 gun control measures the Senate voted on a couple of days ago. Two by Democrats and two by Republicans. They were actually amendments.
“We have to stop the senseless gun murders,” they all said.
So, in spite of the fact that none of the measures would have stopped a single terror attack, including the Orlando ISIS Islamist Terror attack that we can’t call Islamic related, the Senate set up a vote of the 4 amendments.
So how do we make sure we “do something” – even if it’s wrong?
Well, we make sure the measures have pretty much zero chance of passing by setting up the threshold as a 60 vote minimum to pass. And instead of having one, unified, well thought and effective bill, we had four absolutely useless and mostly unconstitutional bills that didn’t stand a chance in hell of passing.
And did you watch the charade as the Democrats and then the Republicans gave pompous speeches and postured back and forth? Such theater.
But at the end of the day, none of the bills that wouldn’t fix anything anyway passed. All according to the script!
Bravo! Applause! Throw the roses.
Such a Divine Comedy.
And the press is involved now. And both parties are taking turns criticizing the other on live TV about the dastardly opposition. Pocahontas Elizabeth Warren even went so far as to say Republicans are now selling guns to ISIS – presumably because none of the fake gun control measures passed.
Nonetheless, this is considered a major victory for both the lovers of gun control and the lovers of the 2nd Amendment.
A true Win-Win.
Why you ask?
My email overfloweth with emails taking about how important it is to pass “common sense” legislation to stop gun violence or how important it is to protect the 2nd Amendment.
And if you can just see your way to donate $5, $10, $25, $100 or more TODAY we can fix this issue.
Now that Bozo John Cornyers is staging a “sit” in. Does anyone else see the irony in that?
But they are going to make a lot of money promising a solution while sitting on their collective asses. Or in Conyer’s case, he may actually be cutting off circulation to his brain. Sitting. Where he usually sits. And having a sit in.
At least when they do noting the country is better off.
By the way, congrats on running for your 27th term Congressman Conyers. I can’t wait to see what the second half century of your tenure brings. But maybe stand up once in a while and let your brain breathe. You do have a brain, right? Oh, never mind.
