For three years we have listened as President Obama blames his predecessor, George W. Bush, for all of his economic woes. This president accepts no blame – for anything. But any and all successes, he grabs the glory – and there has been little glory over these past 3 years. Despite promises that unemployment would not go above 8% if we pass his stimulus plan, we hover between 9% and 10%. And even these numbers do not reflect the actual unemployment situation in America. They fail to count those who are so discouraged with looking for non-existent jobs that they have simply given up the search. Uncounted and unemployed.
Remember the Census? Obama was determined to turn over every stone to find every person living in the United States – legal or not. But that interest falls when we are talking unemployment.
The Grand Stimulus that was supposed to lead to the Summer of Recovery in 2010 never made a dent – despite spending nearly a Trillion Dollars! Mostly because the money went, not to the shovel ready “busywork” projects, which it turns out didn’t really exist. No, the money went to Obama’s Union allies and thugs, and much of it to “green jobs”. Unfortunately, these “green jobs” were working for companies who wish to manufacture products that will replace older, less “green” products – like light bulbs and automobiles. The problem is, these companies produced products that no one wants or can afford like a $127 light bulb that replaces the 50-cent Edison bulb or the expensive and brittle death traps that the Obama Administration wants us to drive. The sad fact is, the products that our stimulus money went to produce are not wanted by the American public (or anyone else for that matter) and these companies would not have come into existence without massive government money for the start-up, nor will they continue after the money dries up. That is why the stimulus didn’t work. If these products were economically feasible and sustainable, some entrepreneur would come along and build them. With private money.
And while claiming to focus on jobs, behind the scenes Obama is working to destroy the energy sector of the economy – oil, natural gas, coal and even nuclear energy – in favor of windmills and solar energy. But, like the $127 light bulbs, this type of energy production is nothing more than a pipe dream. Far too expensive and far too little energy produces to sustain production. But this president never lets hard, cold facts get in the way of his ideological nightmare for the nation.
Instead of investing in sustaining jobs, Obama has borrowed and spent trillions to create “new” jobs in “new” companies that can only exist with massive government handouts. This money was wasted, and it is time to pay the piper.
As we predicted on Saturday, the World markets have crumbled and the Dow Futures are down approaching 300 points!
And will Obama finally realize that Keynesian Economics is a failure? Will Harry Reid come to his senses about spending cuts? Will Nancy Pelosi realize that “protecting” Social Security and Medicare will require hard changes?
Of course not! They will do as they did all weekend. Blame the Republicans and the TEA Party for not raising taxes. They will double down on the attacks and the weak leadership of House Speaker John Boehner will do what the left knows he will do. Support higher taxes on the “rich” – those we look to for jobs creation. And the “rich” will do what they always do . Cut employees and raise their prices. And tax revenues will continue to free fall and jobs will completely disappear except for a few. And the Progressive Keynesian proponents will diagnose the problem as they always do – not enough taxes and more government spending.
The US Dollar is now done as the world currency. The only decision left to make is if it will be replaced by Chinese or Russian currency. And then, inflation will be rapid and massive.
This country is headed for an epic failure the likes of which we have never seen.
We cannot wait until 2013 to seat a new president and congress. We have no choice but to make this one do his job! Time is not on our side.
If Speaker Boehner can’t, or won’t lead, it is time to replace him. And I fear that those directly under him – Eric Cantor – do not have the guts to stand up to the Democrats.
Fear of being blamed for a government shutdown will cause the collapse the government. Something may eventually rise from the ashes, but most of us shall never see that day, nor are we likely to find what rises to our liking.
This is the final wake up call, and it may already be too late.
