Every Republican has run across a Libertarian a time or two. These are people that were formerly Republicans and think the party has moved too far to the center (or left) as the case may be. They always seem to have a chip on their shoulder and often use irritating, in your face tactics to garner the attention they so desperately need. Almost a radical left mentality, only they want smaller government, lower taxes and more freedom.
The sad thing is, many Republicans believe the same thing. The party is wisely moving to the right. But rather than be a part of the solution in a two party system, Libertarians chose to cut and run. Instead of working within the Republican party to help bring about the change they seek, they support a party that will never grow beyond the fringe.
While their radical tactics are not welcomed in the Republican Party, their message, for the most part, is. It is just a shame Libertarians have chosen to waste their time, money and efforts on a party that can’t win instead of working within a party that can win to help bring about the change they want.
