THE SCOTTISH PEOPLE VOTE TODAY: SANDY says YES will win narrowly

The polls seem to show a small lead in the independence referendum in the nature of a 53-47 margin for the NO.  But turnout is high, 16 and 17 year olds can vote (That’s a silly idea) and last minute public rumblings about Tory revolt over new powers might turn the day.  One thing is undeniable:  The political discontent in the UK is high.  That may also play into a secret YES vote.  I also considered the question:  Would a YES or a NO voter lie to a pollster?  Since the polls seems to be British organizations, I would say I could see YES saying NO more than a NO saying YES.

Here is the Guardian (UK) live blog on the day’s events.

Sandy should be up to see the first returns come in about 11PM our time but may nto be up until the expected 3 AM (our time) results.  We’ll see…

PS: YES, I have my tiny Scottish flag (called The Saltire) and it will be on duty tonight.  Maybe even a selfie…
