Trump Schools Fox News, GOP Field on the ‘Art of the Deal’

After decades of watching or “leaders” make really bad deals, Presidential Candidate Donald Trump has shown the backbone America has lacked for so long.

How many times has Trump promised to make “really good deals” for America? And how often have the other candidates mocked him for saying that? Or doubted his word?

And I love the desperate Cruz supporters who are suddenly faced with the reality that Cruz is going to lose. They are calling Trump a “chicken”. They say he is “afraid” of Megyn Kelly. And they laughingly speculate that Trump will show “cowardice” in “real” negotiations with world leaders like Russia’s Putin. (Funny thing, a few weeks ago they tried to claim Putin and Trump were best friends. Such desperate people.)

Yet these same people cheered when the GOP stood up to CNN and demanded that Candy Crawley be banned from participation in the CNN sponsored debates. Were the Cruz supporters then claiming the GOP was afraid of Candy? Were the “conservative” Republicans mocking the field saying ‘if the GOP can’t deal with one biased woman how will they deal with Putin and Iran?’

And after the 3 hour ‘debate’ on CNN that was obviously intended to be a rope-a-dope session to get the candidates so tired and weary that they would lose self control, Trump refused to do another such format on CNBC. Everyone cheered Trump. And Ben Carson joined Trump in a boycott threat. Trump won. Everyone cheered. No one said the GOP was “chicken” of a 3 hour format.

And when National “RINO” Review trashed Trump in their failing publication, their bias saw them dropped as a sponsor and participant of the debate. Trump didn’t even have to ask. It is unfair to have someone who has an obvious bias moderate a debate. Not a peep from the peanut gallery.

Yet somehow, Megyn Kelly who has shown she is completely biased against Trump and willing to attack him repeatedly both on her show and in the last debate is allowed by Fox to moderate. Where is the RNC? Crickets….

The ground rules have been pretty well established. No biased moderators and no biased formats. Until now.

Trump has made a deal every time the format or moderators were not to his liking. He is not seeking an unfair deal that benefits him as much as he is simply looking for a fair deal. No one, even the desperate Cruz supporters can say Kelly has been fair or give assurances that she will be fair. She has already demonstrated that she is out to see Trump defeated.

Now I understand the Cruz supporters suddenly becoming the Megyn Kelly fan club. Cruz is down double digits in every single national poll taken this year. Cruz is down double digits in New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada. And while Cruz is only down single digits in Iowa in a poll average, the latest Fox News poll shows Trump up by 11 and they note a 15 point upswing for The Donald in a 2 week period. So Cruz is losing by double digits in Iowa as well.

So obviously the Cruz supporters are hoping the last debate before Iowa will give their candidate an opportunity to reverse his slide and make up some ground. And if Kelly is anti Trump, so much the better for them. They are not looking for fair. They are desperately trying to avoid losing. And they are only too happy to put their faith in a “girl” to do what their candidate has failed to do. It is do or die time and Cruz was hoping to hit Trump hard in this last debate.

But once again Cruz shows he is weak in the art of negotiating. He desperately wants Trump at the debate so he can attack him. His tactic and that of his supporters to mock Trump and call him chicken will not work to bring Trump to the debate.

You know what would work? And what would be good for the GOP? If Cruz and any of the rest of the field that hope to take a shot at Trump withdrew from the debate unless Kelly was removed. Fox would cave and Trump would attend. And the solidarity of the candidates would put the Republican Party in a far better light than the childish mockery. And it would put Fox News in their place – something that is much needed.

Trump is a master deal maker. He has nothing to gain in this final debate. And he knows he would be the piñata facing the 7 other candidates AND a biased moderator. Trump is leading everyone else “by a lot” everywhere. He has nothing to gain from attending and with the “gang of 8” picking at him in one last desperate effort to take him down, he does have something to lose.

None of the other candidates can afford to miss out on the publicity. They pay dearly for what Trump gets for free. Because he is simply a better negotiator. Just watch the rest of the networks fall all over themselves to give Trump free coverage while Fox is doing a debate without him.

I am not sure what Fox News charges for commercials, but according to Trump, CNN normally charges $4,000 for a 30 second commercial. But during the debate with Trump on the stage, the price went up to $200,000 to $250,000 for 30 seconds. What will the buyers be willing to pay for a debate without Trump? The rating will plummet. Millions will watch Trump on another network who will reap the financial bonanza.

So Trump has nothing to gain and by not showing up, he will not be allowing the other candidates to try to make gains at his expense. Why should he. Especially if the debate is stacked against him.

Do you doubt that? Watch Megyn Kelly in this hate filled montage video going after Trump.

Still not convinced?

My fellow Watcher’s Council friend at the Independent Sentinel noted this lovely bit:

Yesterday, I was disgusted with Donald Trump for backing out of the Fox debates but then I heard about the leftist from youtube being invited to ask questions of our GOP candidates and I was aghast. Damn if Trump wasn’t right again.

This article is not meant to be in defense of Trump. It’s in defense of all our GOP candidates.

Whatever you think of Donald Trump, why is a debate with any of our candidates being treated as a spectacle?

Some of you will say That Fox is doing is the right thing. It’s giving the candidates a chance to show what they are made of and it proves a lack of bias but I will tell you that you are wrong.  You are wrong because it is being made into an entertainment event at the expense of the GOP. The GOP candidates will be put on the spot in a way Democrats are not.The GOP will be a laughing stock and the media will only repeat the comments that help the leftist cause.

This is a hit job.

Fox News and Google invited three YouTube personalities to ask questions at the Jan. 28 GOP debate. One of those people is a Muslim activist who has called Trump a bigot and compared him to Adolf Hitler.

“We have a presidential candidate whose loudest message reeks of hatred and Islamophobia… turning on the news now is scary, and oftentimes, humiliating,” the Muslim woman, Nabela Noor, says in a December YouTube video.

Fair and Balanced? Not even close.

This debate is an anti Trump ambush intended to help anyone but Trump.

But guess who else skipped the final debate before Iowa a few years ago: Ronald Reagan.

The entire media save but a few have become unhinged thanks to Donald Trump.
Such a sight to see and hear as the molly coddled milk sops scurry about with that
what the hell is happening look in their eyes. Trump is happening and they are undone!

The lunacy that we have had to endure for 8 years where down is up, wrong is right, 8+6 is 3 is going to come to a grinding abrupt halt. It sure feels good to know that there is a light glowing on the other end of the tunnel, the long dark tunnel we have been in for so long.

Imagine turning on the television or radio and not have to end up hurling expletives every second.
When President Trump comes on not having to find the off button or remote or screaming mute that ——— I am starting to breathe normally again, who would have thought this was possible?

We have been exiled in our own country for far to long. None of this will be possible if we do not caucus and vote. I cannot do that for you, you cannot do that for me, ah but together we can Make America Great Again! The time is now there will be no chance later as the ship THE USA is severely listing.

Reagan used to say that he wasn’t the smartest guy in the room, but learned to surround himself with the smartest people and then get out of their way.

Trump practices that philosophy in business, note the intellect of those around him, very very bright articulate intelligent people, men & women.

As President I’ve no doubt he would do the same thing, unlike many other republicrats that would simply recycle the crony pals of past administrations.

What a breath of fresh air—people in DC that know what they are doing.

Wow! It\’s a pleasure to have found you, Tom.

Just sit back and imagine a President, a high-level guy who personally knows the finest businessmen in the country, and who can sit back and pick the best of the best of the best to fight on behalf of *all* of us.

Mr. White, I have just found your site and I do enjoy it. I read your list yesterday of things that should be done and I agree 100%. I\’m fed up with so called expert pundits (and some bloggers) trying to define what a \”true conservative\” should be. I don\’t want lip service, just get it done!

Listened to the John Fredrick show this morning and had a chance to be on the air and second his opinions of the Trumpster-as he calls him. He sounds like we, including you and I agree with him about Trump !
The main reasons for Trump leading in the polls and why Fox just doesn’t get it is because voters- including many Democrats- want to see change in the way the Government operates and their obvious picks, Jeb and Marco and Kasich will be a continuing business as usual bunch, with zero inclination to change anything ! Overlapping agencies duplicating responsibilities and spending huge growing budgets every year will be gutted or ” Your Fired” and the size and efficiency will be questioned and finally someone (Trump) will have the guts to clean up that joke of a Government.
Our Government has become a very very large business and attorneys have no clue how to manage with any amount of efficiency or many of them could care less. Money grows on trees. This has to be stopped or changed and we desperately need new management.
Trump has said he would surround himself with the best decision makers to clean up this mess of a government.
Roger Ailes and the RINO bunch at Fox-Rupert Murdoch included, are so in the tank for Jebbie, business as usual Bush, it isn’t funny. Anyone who thinks Megan Kelley’s opening question at the first Fox debate was anything more than a statement is sadly mistaken.
