UN TREATY ALERT! CALL SENATORS WEBB and WARNER! NO on CRPD!

The so-called Convention for the Rights of the Persons with Disabilities is back again!

www.parentalrights.org is reporting that Senator Reid wants to vote on CRPD this week!  We need to call our senators today or tomorrow.

I would say:  First, a lame duck session is not appropriate for a serious matter like this treaty.  Only national emergencies or extremely urgent matters should be discussed in a lame duck session.  There are defeated members passing on these matters.

Second, this treaty will hurt the constitutional rights of parents with disabled children to do what’s best (absent proven neglect or abuse) for their child.  Disabled children could include all children with a IEP or a 504 plan.  Government bureaucrats or judges could intervene in situations not abuse of neglect.  It could affect homeschooling:  Bureaucrats could say – we think it is not in the best interest of the CHILD to be schooled at home – there are BETTER opportunities in the government school systems!  They could take the children away.

Third, we have to give answers and reports to foreign bodies in violation of the Constitution – the supreme law of the land (I say next to the Bible most dear – BTW, that is a paraphrase on what John C. Calhoun toasted when confronted by President Jackson:  “The Union, next to our Liberties most dear!”)

Here are the numbers for Senators Webb and Warner:

Senator Warner
(202) 224-2023
Senator Webb
(202) 224-4024
I will track this blog entry back to both senators!
