US GENERAL FIRED for telling the TRUTH; while technically right to fire him, the COMMENTS ought to say to the AMERICAN PEOPLE: VOTE RON PAUL!

I was amused about the comments of a US general who was fired for inappropriate comments in public about the Afghan government:

In a recent interview with the website Politico, Fuller characterized Afghan leaders as erratic, ungrateful and isolated from reality. The interview quotes him as saying Afghan leaders don’t fully recognize America’s sacrifices on their country’s behalf.

Referring to Karzai’s recent assertion that Afghanistan would side with Pakistan if Pakistan got into a war with the U.S., Fuller was quoted as calling the comments “erratic,” adding, “Why don’t you just poke me in the eye with a needle! You’ve got to be kidding me . I’m sorry, we just gave you $11.6 billion and now you’re telling me, I don’t really care?”

Fuller said the Afghans have at times made unreasonable requests for U.S. assistance.

“You can teach a man how to fish, or you can give them a fish,” Fuller was quoted as saying. “We’re giving them fish while they’re learning, and they want more fish! (They say,) `I like swordfish, how come you’re giving me cod?’ Guess what? Cod’s on the menu today.

I think it was technically right to fire General Fuller.  We cannot make comments like that in an official military capacity.

But the comments are not only true, they illustrate why we must get out of these nations and stop mindless intervention in others domestic issues and conflicts.  In Libya, we now have Sharia law, an al-Qaeda flag in the rebel capital and ICC meddling in the internal matters of a nation that did not agree with the Rome Treaty. If we had stayed out and discouraged meddling by the US sock puppet NATO, we would have none of it.

The Afghanistan government is disloyal to what we are there for:  To bring them democracy and protect them from the Taliban.  But that is not our role.  Osama bin Laden is dead, al-Qaeda is on the run, we do not need to prop up potentially unfriendly governments with the lives of our best soldiers.  Let’s get out.

If I were the Ron Paul campaign, I’d try to recruit General Fuller for an new ad.  and run it November 6 on the OWN Network’s tragic presentation of the effects of the war on Iraq veterans.
