WANTED: 10,000 New Leaders

American Majority, and sister organization American Majority Action, announced today a drive to find 10,000 new, credible candidates for 2011 and 2012 election cycle. This new program is called the The New Leaders Project and has the support from many tea party organizers, those in attendance included representative from Texas, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Colorado, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Florida, Virginia, Arkansas, and Ohio.

“New leaders must be found starting right now who have the ability to effectively communicate the ideas of free enterprise and limited government and fiscal responsibility, while at the same time running sound campaigns,” said Ned Ryun, President of American Majority. The effort will focus on assisting the local organizer find viable qualified candidates to run for office from local school board to state representative and eventually congress.

Chris Littleton from the Ohio Liberty Council commented:

“Voters will have the ability to not choose (between) the lesser of two evils, but to champion a genuine candidate who believes like we believe; that is detached from the political class, because they didn’t come from the political class,”

“When we heard ‘tea party candidates’ said over and over again during this election cycle, I think some of us rolled our eyes and said ‘they’re not really tea party candidates. They’re what we have left,’” he said. “This will be something new.”

American Majority was founded in 2008 as a political training institute for local grass root activist and candidate training, so this is a good fit and a logical next step. Tea party leaders will be able to focus on identifying potential candidates and American Majority will help them build a strong campaigns to get them into office.
