One of the questions I get frequently when I “dis” someone that is on “our side” is why don’t I go after the Democrats. They are the real problem.
(Disclaimer – no actual bullets will or have flown. References to firearms are for illustrative purposes only. No people, furry bunnies or kittens will be harmed.)
Yes, they are the real problem. But the people that are supposed to be on our side – the RINO’s and liars – have positioned themselves squarely between us and the “enemy”. And to make matters worse, they are determined to collude and conspire with this enemy. And they have turned their guns on us, those trying to fix this country, or what is left of it. It is hard to hit the enemy when you are ducking “friendly fire”.
I have tried to convince the “friendlies” that have now taken aim at us to turn around and back the @#$% up and join us.
We can’t even SEE the enemy with them standing in the way shooting at us.
And I have come to the conclusion that it is hopeless to try to convince them to rejoin us. They have defected and are not returning to our side of the trench.Their backs are to the “enemy” making their pockets that much easier to pick. Unfortunately, their wallets contain our money, our future and our country.
Even worse, they accuse us of backing up. Of moving to the far right extreme.
I assure you, we have held our ground and only moved their way to reach out and try to reason with them. We crossed enemy lines to campaign for Mitt and McCain. Our move back (to the right) was not a move to the far right, though from their vantage point across “enemy” lines it would appear that way. Because they are in denial of the fact that they have moved at all. They are completely oblivious to the fact that our aim has not changed, they just moved into the line of fire making themselves indistinguishable from enemy.
No, our move to the right was not a new position. We merely returned to the original lines where we have held our position for over 200 years. We are in the original trench with the original fortifications.
The front of our line is clearly marked with the inscription “We the People” and the rear is clearly marked with the inscription “When in the Course of human events”.
Our shield is the Constitution and our spine is the spirit of freedom known as the Declaration of Independence.
Beside us stands the ghosts and spirits of such giants as Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson and James Madison to remind us just how far we have strayed from their wise vision and the document that turned a fledgling new country into the most powerful nation on earth.
Our elected employees from the President to our Senators, Congressmen, Governors and State Legislators all the way down to our local representatives are charged with one duty that rises above all else they do while in office. And that is to protect and preserve our Constitution.
And those that stand between us and the enemies of the far left who seek to abolish the Constitution are as corrupt as those they pretend to oppose.
When you reach a compromise with those opposed to the Constitution, God, Free Enterprise, Limited Government and freedom you must give away pieces of the cornerstone and the foundation of this (once) great nation. And this compromise makes you as corrupt as the corrupt people with whom you strike a bargain.
And it is time for you to retire or be retired.
When once a republic is corrupted, there is no possibility of remedying any of the growing evils but by removing the corruption and restoring its lost principles; every other correction is either useless or a new evil.
– Thomas Jefferson
And keep in mind that the so called “leadership” of the great bodies like the US Senate and House of Representatives were not chosen to be leaders by the people that elected them to represent them, rather, they were bestowed that title by their co-workers.
The people did not elect Harry Reid, John Boehner or Eric Cantor as their leader. They were all elected to be the employee “of the people”.
You do not lead us. You were sent to represent our wishes – not your own. You work for us!
And most all politicians generally start out to do good. To represent the people who elected them and be a positive force for our nation. And they find that at all levels of government that in order to rise to positions of “leadership” and be appointed to important committees and have larger offices and more and more staff you must become corrupt and place the quest for power ahead of the will of the people who you are supposed to represent.
You simply cannot rise to a powerful position such as Speaker, Majority or Minority Leader or even Chairman of a committee without becoming corrupt in the sense that you must cease representing the best interest of the voters that elected you and bow to the will of the more powerful who hold the keys to more power. And with more power comes more corruption.
If Eric Cantor ceases to recognize John Boehner as his lord and master he will be demoted and marginalized. His perks will go away.
But it is a game.
John Boehner supports amnesty, so Eric Cantor must. John Boehner supports big government controlling health care, so Eric Cantor must.
But there is a delicate balance and those in power learn to play that game well.
Meaningless legislation such as the dozens of bills to defund, repeal, or neuter Obamacare flood the House floor. And they pass on a partisan vote, picking up the Democrats that happen to be in a Conservative leaning district and wish to escape the wrath of voters for horrific laws. And then Eric Cantor sends out an email crowing about his latest vote to repeal Obamacare and asking for money to continue the “fight”. And the bill follows all of the earlier ones into the shredder and burn bin never to be seen again.
And Eric Cantor votes to fund Obamacare. And strangely, there is no email telling you he did so. Or that he has borrowed a trillion dollars every year he has been in Congress fighting to “balance” the budget and eliminate the debt.
And don’t think the game is played only at the National level.
This same scenario plays out in ever House and Senate chamber in America.
We are subjected to endless self-back patting by the local pols that are still wearing their legislative pull-ups and dreaming of the day when they can put on big boy pants and go play in Washington. The seeds of corruption are planted in every councilman, supervisor, alderman, delegate and senator long before they rise to Speaker of Majority / Minority Leader.
If we are to save America we must stop the corruption mill at the lowest levels and start sending citizen legislators to Washington to replace the corrupted ones. Not professional politicians who learned the game in their home state.
While the Patriots and TEA Party members endure false accusations and charges of being extremists we know that we are standing in the trenches dug by the giants that founded this country. These trenches were dug over 200 years ago and have not moved one inch. Many of us have fought for this country and her Constitution. We have a vested interest in preserving the Constitution – an oath we took long ago. And we stand in the trenches. Not with guns and swords, but with knowledge of how well the Constitution has worked and how the current Socialist policies are bringing this nation to her knees.
It does no good to keep sending corrupt politicians to Washington hoping they will be different. They won’t.
So we need to send uncorrupted people to Washington and keep them on a short leash with the voting booth as our weapon of choice.
It is better to try to elect good people and fail than to elect corrupted politicians over and over again. Corruption has no party. They are all the same.
