Are today’s Cadillac Plans better than others? Possibly. But a lot of things go into determining costs, and the fact is, a higher priced plan in New York City may cover less than a cheaper plan in Birmingham.
Since there is no interstate competition, there is no standardized pricing structure.
But there will be a tax. With no accounting for the costs in your area. Unless your plan is provided by a union. Obama cut another closed door, back room deal with them.
But you don’t have to worry, right? Your plan is not one of those high dollar “Cadillac” plans, right? We all want to soak those “rich” people with these expensive plans, don’t we?
Your plan may not be expensive enough right now, but if this Health Care Reform bill goes through, your plan will likely become a Cadillac plan. When Insurers are forced to do away with pre-existing clauses and maximum lifetime policy limits, along with the other mandates, our premiums will soar. Everyone will then be forced to pay a Cadillac tax along with the higher premiums.
But this is all designed to make a crappy, government run plan with death panels and rationing a better alternative to the expensive and unaffordable plans that we will see with this “reform” bill.
And they say Socialized Medicine is not the plan.
