I was not sure what to do because I am at work and I do not blog from work nor use work stuff for advocacy (although I have broken down for the Appellate Defender issue!) so when I was doing my prayer walk around the state Capitol today, I was seized with an idea: GO to Senator Webb’s Richmond office and convey my message! It will set a powerful example and will be a strong message.
So I walked briskly up to the Richmond office of the former Reagan Secretary of the Navy. I told them succinctly (as I was catching my breath!) why the CRPD is bad news for the United States. It hurts parental rights. It requires us to answer to foreign bodies. It is unnecessary. The staff was impressed and friendly. Definitely an asset to the senator! One said, you know Senator Webb will be out of office in January, in a very helpful and servant voice. I replied that Majority Leader Reid had the treaty up for a vote in the lame duck session – maybe even today. They told me they had had several calls on this very issue!
Let me repeat that: THEY HAVE HAD SEVERAL CALLS ON THE TREATY ISSUE! RAH for the patriots who called in!
So I got to write down my concerns and they promised me they would fax it on to DC! I thanked them. If I were a senator I would be proud for all those folks to work for me.
So I APPEAL to the former REAGAN Secretary of the Navy: Do what’s right. You are a patriotic American, Senator Webb. Vote NO on this sovereignty-killing unconstitutional unnecessary treaty! Leave office on the highest note possible – you did what the nation needed.
