With Maximum Possible Destruction of America Achieved – Lame Duck Congress Adjourns

America has one thing to be thankful for this holiday season – that Congress has adjourned.

After the voters spoke in November, this Congress tells voters in a clear voice:

We hear you and say ‘go screw yourself’

Republicans now have some fixing to do. And even more explaining.

Both parties got the message. There is no doubt about it. The Progressives heard and went into full down the throat mode. This was their last gasp as they were tossed out on their collective keisters for doing exactly what they continued to do in this lame duck session.

And shame on the Republicans that went along with this against the will of the people.

A few get it. The rest don’t care.
According to an article in The Hill:

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) lashed out at fellow Republicans Tuesday for a “capitulation … of dramatic proportions” to Democrats and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) in the lame-duck Congress.

Graham said Republicans have no one to blame but themselves for allowing ratification of the New START Treaty and other legislation in the period before new lawmakers are sworn in in January.

“When it’s all going to be said and done, Harry Reid has eaten our lunch,” Graham said on Fox News radio. “This has been a capitulation in two weeks of dramatic proportions of policies that wouldn’t have passed in the new Congress.”

We are feeling bits of Thanksgiving Turkey in the back of our throats in saying we agree with Senator Graham, something we rarely do.

But when push comes to shove, Graham is absolutely correct. And this gives us reason to question the spine of the minority Republicans in the Senate in the upcoming 2012 session.

Bipartisanship and cooperation is not why the voters sent conservatives to the hill. Clearly the mood of the country is to reverst the damage done by the Progressives. This is hardly an inspiring beginning.

It does show, however, that the fledgling Tea Party is absolutely on the right track. Putting good Conservatives in the Senate will be a priority for 2012.

The memory of the voters has dramatically increased over the last couple of years, thanks in large part to the education programs of Tea Party type groups. These issues will remain front and center in front of the new masses of activists.

And while this Lame Duck session was an affront to voters intentions, it was hardly the resounding victory the Progressives are pretending it to be. The most onerous of bills, the Omnibus Spending bill was rejected, which means that the new Congress will deal with the budget. And while the tax rates of the Bush era taxes will remain the same, other massive spending was allowed and revenue cuts to an already broken Social Security system were initiated.

And that is hardly a win for anyone.

But for now, enjoy Christmas.

Next year will be the year of Conservatives rising.
