WOULD THEODORE ROOSEVELT SUPPORT SENATOR HARRY REID?

Brent Budowsky writes this ironically humorous article in The Hill supporting Harry Reid.  Budowsky suggests that Theodore Roosevelt would support Senator Harry Reid (D-NV) since he is actually out there in the arena fighting for the right:

Roosevelt continued: The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by the dust and sweat and blood; who errs and comes short again and again; who at his best knows high achievement and at his worst fails after daring greatly.

Budowsky also suggests that TR would be displeased with our politics right now, that there are too many “gasbags”, “partisans” and “blowhards” for his liking.  I think Budowsky is partly right; there is plenty of unprincipled politics to go around.  But it seems to me (keep in mind I do not speak for the 26th President!) that Roosevelt would respect principled positions, even if they are not popular.

It’s not Senator Reid but his opponent who has been criticized for being ineffective (41 to Angle in her state senate days) and a wingnut (she is opposed to the Federal Department of Education in spite of its dubious constitutionality and calls for the repeal of Obamacare).  Who was alone in the arena when Nevada violated its state constitution and passed taxes without the necessary legalities; Angle went to court and WON!  Sounds like carry a big stick to me!  (Here’s my article on why Ron Paul folks should help Sharron Angle for US Senate)

Harry Reid may have acted in regard to his constituents’ wishes about Yucca Valley but he certainly did not when he pushed health care through the Senate.  For that he should be defeated at the polls.  Support the Right Angle for Nevada!  Vote Sharron Angle for US Senate.
