Cruelty. Brutality. Bashar al-Assad is a brutal dictator who is killing his people.
John McCain thinks we should go in and put a stop to all this. Save the poor Syrian people.
What’s in it for America? Stopping brutal killings? Well, there’s that.
But as we have seen in every Arab country that has had their “Spring” the people who won, with or without our help, after it is all over and the last bodies are finally disposed of, these people turn to the more important issues at hand.
Hating America and the destruction of Israel.
And they will be united in this mission.
So while killing and war is tragic, if both groups in the end will unite against us, there is absolutely no American interest in intervention.
And to call it “humanitarian” to save people who will undoubtedly be inhumane to America and Israel at their first opportunity, McCain and others are simply wrong on this.
Leave them alone. And when they are done killing themselves, and turn on us, at least there will be fewer of them to contend with.
