Glenn Beck is Right

I hate that President George W. Bush and the Republican Leadership actively abandoned the border, pushed for amnesty, and made it harder for localities to defend themselves against illegal invasions. I hate that President Barack Obama has gone ever further in the pursuit of a lawless border, stripping States of the right to enforce those federal laws that he has abandoned. I hate that the Democrat Leadership is willing to cause unimaginable harm in order to transport new voters to America.

I hate that children are being sent across our border in droves and that mothers are routinely crossing the border to give birth to an American Citizen. I hate that drug cartels are making millions of dollars on “making sure kids get to America”. I hate that these kids are being raped, molested, prostituted, and harmed in a myriad of ways that no child should ever have to go through. And I hate that our media has painted a picture of men and women who believe in the rule of law as racists and xenophobes.

We should give money, time, and other forms of charity to these illegal kids sent here for citizenship. We should be loving toward them. We should care about their safety, their suffering, and their sustenance. We should at all times respect the life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness of other human beings. We should not be treating these kids with contempt and hatred and vitriol.

In an article published by Politico, Jonathon Topaz explains:

Beck said Tuesday that he would likely face repercussions from fellow conservatives for his decision to provide aid to the undocumented — “I’ve never taken a position more deadly to my career than this,” he said — but said helping the children was the moral thing to do.

“When America stops being good, we are no longer able to be great,” he said.

We should not, it seems to me, hold it against a man who is acting out of compassion for children, young adults, and adults who are products of the most inhumane centralized governments in South America’s Third World, that he is aiding needy people. Anything government can do, We The People can do better, and should from time to time demonstrate this fact through charitable works. Libertarians and Conservatives, Constitutionalists and Independents aren’t mean, hard-hearted people; but we can get caught up in our fury over the lawlessness and corruption of our government and its agents within both established political parties.

I was listening to Glenn Back last week, while he spoke to caller after caller who said that they could not support him supporting these illegal kids. Glenn Beck wasn’t supporting open borders, or lawlessness, or amnesty, or anything of the kind. His argument is that what these kids have gone through, because of their governments and our ours, is unconscionable. Every person that voted for George W. Bush, Mitt Romney, John McCain, Eric Cantor, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, or countless other Republicans who have been soft on the border, slaves to the Chamber of Commerce, bares responsibility for this disaster.

I bare responsibility for this disaster. It’s not my fault, but my hands aren’t clean. I voted for George W. Bush in 2004, John McCain in 2008, and Mitt Romney in 2012, to my everlasting shame. If there was a God of Politics, I would pray to him for forgiveness. If you cast a vote for any of these men, then you share in the rest of our responsibility and shame.

I believe these children should be deported and I have absolutely no power to see that this happens. In the meantime, while we fight the political fights that must be fought, these kids have gone through hell, and have now become the political babies of the Democrat Party. What is awaiting them could be worse. They will be drawn into the system, bred to become parasites, emptied of independence, self-reliance, and spirit. They will become permanent wards of The State, serfs to the Chamber of Commerce, and will never experience what it feels like to be truly free.

Unless they see a different example up close. Unless they see free men and women coming in to bring them food and clothes and bandages, not because the government is forcing them, but because they are exercising their own moral conscience. I agree with Glenn, that as the liberals and corporatists grow in power, our hearts become harder and harder, angrier and angrier, and we become less able to love and empathize with those who suffer. I don’t want this government, that I hate, to turn me into the kind of person I don’t want to me. I want to be free, compassionate, and loving. So while I fight against the tyranny the Republican and Democrat Establishments have forced on me, I will give to those in need. These kids broke our laws and should be deported. They are also victims of tyrannical, soulless governments in South America and in the United States. I can hold a victim responsible for his crimes without losing the ability to empathize with his suffering and his need.

I have no obligation to care. There is no moral obligation to care. Please, do not get my message wrong. All I am saying is that I care and that my hatred for our government and the governments of these children should never be the cause or justification of me hardening my heart. I think there are a lot of people out there in America who care, but who can’t feel that compassion at present because of the fury foisted upon them by a lawless and tyrannical government. We should be who we are, despite our government. We need to be aware of the extent to which our anger at our enemies, aids our enemies. Something to think about.
