This is the perfect lament for those of us who followed Eric Cantor, worked for Eric Cantor, supported Eric Cantor, planted thousands of signs for Eric Cantor, defended Eric Cantor and did everything we could to keep Eric Cantor in office, only to be stabbed in the back with his support of Amnesty, more and more debt, failing to defund Obamacare, the EPA, and other far reaching tools of the Progressive Obama Administration.
And for those of us who are not fooled with his late rush to condemn the IRS, Benghazi and the VA debacle.
For all of us that believed working hard for Eric Cantor would actually make a difference, and that perhaps he would listen to us who were kicked to the curb as soon as the election cycle ended.
For all of us that have watched as Eric Cantor worked with his “Young” Guns to disenfranchise the voters in Virginia with his slating.
This song says it all perfectly. Many of us would have followed Eric Cantor to the ends of the earth. But he has changed. And no one is more sad that I am to finally reach the point that I am giving up on him. I am now not even sure he was ever the person I thought he was. I may have been fooled all along, or he changed.
While this is probably a song about two lovers who have fallen out of love, the parallel between this song and former Eric Cantor supporters like me is uncanny.
Read the lyrics on the screen as you listen to this haunting song, Say Something
“Say Something”
(with Christina Aguilera)
I’m still learning to love – I will chalk this up as a learning experience and be wiser and more careful next time.
Just starting to crawl – Starting over – with someone else.
Say something, I’m giving up on you
I’m sorry that I couldn’t get to you
Anywhere I would’ve followed you
Say something, I’m giving up on you
And I will swallow my pride – I was wrong about you and while I hate to admit I was wrong, I was.
You’re the one that I love – Politically, of course.
And I’m saying goodbye – My mind is made up. It is over. Closure.
Say something, I’m giving up on you
And I’m sorry that I couldn’t get to you
And anywhere I would’ve followed you (Oh-oh-oh-oh)
Say something, I’m giving up on you
Say something, I’m giving up on you
Say something…
