Have you heard the remarks from liberals about the TEA parties? They are calling participants un-American, liars, extremists, racists and Tea Baggers (a derogatory sexual act). Left wing nut bag Janeane Garofalo says about TEA partiers:
“Let’s be very honest about what this is about. This is not about bashing Democrats. It’s not about taxes. They have no idea what the Boston Tea party was about. They don’t know their history at all. It’s about hating a black man in the White House. This is racism straight up…
Hummm. In 2003, Garofalo defended anti war protests:
There has been so many inappropriate responses to dissent which is the most patriot thing you can do and the First Amendment guarantees everyone’s right to speak out.
So what is it that has Garofalo’s jock strap in a knot?
Quite simply, she knows that the anti war protests put on by the left wing were really just anti Bush protests disguised as war protests. And she and her fellow liberals assume that the TEA protests must be as disingenuous as her own protests. It is completely unthinkable that the hated and despised right could actually be protesting something.
If you recall, the left wing hatred for Bush first manifested as a hatred of the troops. The left wing media searched Iraq for each and every missile or bomb that hit a non military target. This was proof positive to the left that Bush was personally targeting the Iraqi people, as if all munitions are 100% accurate, especially with Iraqi soldiers firing into the air and Soviet “jammers” attempting to disrupt the flight to their intended targets.
As US war casualties were sent home, anti Bush protesters gathered at the funerals of fallen heroes as horrified, grief stricken families watched while the protesters accused their fallen son or daughter of being baby killers and cheered the death of a “child murderer”.
None of the leftist protests were about the war. They were about their left wing agenda and hatred of the right. So they assume that the protests against taxes are really against President Obama. The left yelled and screamed about the war costs running up the National debt. Yet the accelerated government spending so despised under Bush is somehow better when Obama does it, and at a much faster rate.
While some of the TEA protesters were willing to give all of the blame to Obama, most blamed all of the members of Congress and included Bush in their anger. The fact that the out of control spending under Bush mushroomed in the few weeks Obama has been in office to a point the normally silent majority was inspired to brave the cold and rain to protest speaks to the magnitude of waste the current president has allowed.
A second, and perhaps even more troubling aspect of the TEA parties that has caused the complete loss of bowel control on the left is the fact that this was a ground up grassroots effort. The right has adopted the successful tactics used so effectively the past few years by the left. Facebook, Blogs, Twitter and RSS feeds have replaced US Mail and E-mail as the preferred method of mass communications, allowing small groups and individuals a much larger and far more effective voice in shaping the political landscape.
The fact that an inexperienced community organizer has managed to capture the White House, aided by a mostly poor community of college students, PETA and environmental terrorists using social networks and collecting a dollar or two from a lot of people is eye popping.
The greatest fear of the left is that they have awakened the vast, right wing, and heretofore silent majority and armed them with tools such as social networking and protests. That these people realize their money and livelihoods are threatened by jealous hatemongers bent on robbing them of the wealth they have worked so hard to accumulate. A lazy Socialist uprising knocking on the door planning to pillage their hard earned possessions to keep from working themselves.
Given a highly motivated, relatively wealthy group of people now armed with the latest technology and social networking savvy, ready to stand in the rain and shout and scream for change, the left sees the writing on the wall. They realize they have gone a bridge too far.
And did I mention wealthy? That can’t be said enough.
