Most Ridiculous Question Asked of Cuccinelli in ObamaCare Press Conference

Being Attorney General, one must develop a thick skin to deal with some people. Especially those who are out to trip you up and attempt to humiliate you at any cost. Especially if they are Progressive true believers in the now debunked Global Warming hoax or the wonders of ObamaCare, both of which are in Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli’s cross-hairs.

During the media press conference shortly after the opinion of Judge Hudson was released, there were a number of good questions asked.

“What is the time-line to wind through appeals court and eventually the Supreme Court?” Answer – about two years.

“Will you try to bypass the Appeals Court and go straight to the Supreme Court? And how much time will that save?” Answers – possibly, and it will save about a year.

And one reporter for Politico remarked that she had spoken to Department of Justice officials on background and they are not interested in fast tracking this case. She was interested in Cuccinelli’s reaction. He disappointed her by not having a reaction, which he actually said.

But the biggest loser question of the day came from a woman who identified herself as being with Virginia Public Radio who wanted to know:

How much has this cost us?

Answer: Under $1,000.00

Obviously disappointed, she asked how many billable hours had been amassed.

Answer: None really. The work was done by the AG’s staff who are paid anyway. (And since there is no one in Virginia who can say the AG’s office has ignored anything to work on the ObamaCare case, given the unprecedented amount of work on all fronts being done by so few individuals, these people obviously are serving the Commonwealth remarkably well.)

She pressed onward: “What else are you going after that Obama has done?”

Answer: Not much. Just EPA regulations that are onerous to Virginia jobs and anything else that harms Virginians, Mam. You know. Just doin’ my job.

And poking around on the Virginia Public Radio website, it seems that the only story I could find on the subject was a short audio report that failed to mention the tremendous value (under $1,000) we are receiving for our tax dollars.

My answer to this woman would have been a lot less generous than Cuccinelli. “How much have we spent restoring our Liberty? Less than a thousand bucks. And considering that your radio station receives $481,000 in Federal, State and Private grants (sorry, they do not break it down any better than that), how about we stop giving you public funds and actually do some good for Liberty in Virginia? Think of all the freedom I could restore with that kind of money.”

No, Cuccinelli treated the woman and her questions with absolute respect and even convinced everyone that he believed her questions to be serious.

And after such a partisan round of asinine questions, if I were the AG, I would be looking at how much public funding is wasted on Virginia Public Radio. If these folks are so interested in how much the Commonwealth spends, perhaps taxpayers in the eastern half of the state would wonder why their tax dollars are funding a radio station that they can’t even listen to!
