By now, the fact that Kieth Olbermann has been voted off Insanity Island, or MSNBC as it is known in the People’s Republic of Northern Virginia, is well known, even to the twitter deprived rioters in Egypt.
Now comes word that Insanity Island has again voted, and the results were not pretty for Ed “Sargent” Schultz and his appropriately named “Ed Show”. (Which is not to be confused with the Mr. Ed show, about a talking horse. The Ed Show is about a talking Jackass.)
Seems Schultz declared, after the Tucson shooting, that he would never tone down his Palin-o-phobic rantings and that his segment “Psycho Talk” would forever remain a mainstay on his Ed Show.
Newsbusters BUSTED Ed:
Folks, let me tell you something, I’m making this announcement right away. We are not changing “The Ed Show” on MSNBC. As long as they open their mouths over there on the right, we will continue to have the segment called “Psycho Talk,” because that’s exactly what it is. And as soon as they say that they’re not going to vote to repeal health care, then I’ll make some changes.
Aside from the fact that Schultz admits in this quote that the true reason for his psychotic and hate-filled rants are not really Palin and Bachmann, but rather the Republican’s desire to repeal Obamacare, the “Psycho Talk” segment was flushed down the crapper by the powers that be at MSNBC. (And keep repeating that the Comcast takeover of NBC had nothing to do with this.)
Olbermann booted, Shultz muzzled. What is to become of Rachel Maddow?
Well, both of Maddow’s fans will be happy to learn she has a safe card. MSNBC is unlikely to make demands or dismiss her as she has the highest batting average on the MSNBC Softball team. And after the drubbing they take in the ratings, they need a win somewhere.
Could Chris Matthews be next?
One can only hope.
