Wow.

They call this monstrosity of a tax increase – $6.1 billion – the “Transportation Bill”. But only 57% is supposed to go to transportation. And we all know how “secure” that spending will be. There is no lock box.

So as Bob McDonnell sends email after email trying to convince people that bigger government and more taxes is the salvation of Virginia, it is not working.

Bob McDonnell is sounding a lot like Barack Obama in promising jobs for Virginians with this new tax bill. Obama promised the same thing with the shovel read jobs and stimulus money.

But the fact still remains. I spent hours and hours working to elect Bob McDonnell. Making phone calls, covering events and echoing his campaign promise to not raise taxes on Virginians.

Bob lied.

I have no idea that future aspirations Bob McDonnell has, but my vote and a Bob McDonnell candidacy for any office are never, ever, getting back together.

And the same is true for the 42 Virginia Republicans in the State House and Senate that voted to rob us the midst of a recession. And no surprise, Virginia’s revenue declined in February – which is what one expects from a tax increase or talk of one. Lower economic activity.

As soon as this increase is signed and goes into effect, the economy will nose dive.

And I will never forget who did this to us.

And my vote and their candidacy are never, ever getting back together.
