Not Larry Sabato’s Tribbett Exploits WV Coal Mine Tragedy to Attack Cuccinelli

My Grandfather was a West Virginia coal miner who died of Black Lung, as did his father before him. My Dad worked for a short time in the mines as did my uncles and I have many cousins currently working in coal mines in West Virginia. My Dad’s people were Welsh immigrants who traded the mines in Wales for those in West Virginia.

So, as I hear of the tragedy in a mine near Charleston, WV I begin to wonder if I am going to get a call or an email bringing bad news.

Then I run across this post by Tribbett who uses the mining tragedy for a political attack on Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli.

What a sick, twisted, pathetic and bitter little man Tribbett is to exploit something like this just for an excuse to again attack Cuccinelli.

Tribbett has already marginalized himself and lost all credibility with previous fictional attempts to score a “gotcha” on a Republican politician.

I guess when you reach such a low point, becoming an attention whore is all someone like Ben Tribbett has left.

It would be proper to call for a retraction and apology from Tribbett, but that would be like seeking contrition from a sociopath.

Attack Cuccinelli if you want, but it is just wrong to use something like this for an excuse.

Simply pathetic.

  1. Venu says:

Why is it offensive for Tribbett to use a legitimate argument (I don’t know enough about the subject to know how legitimate the argument is) regarding mine safety and law makers’ ethics in overlooking them?

  2. Tom White says:

Because it is not a valid argument.

His “villain” is Obama, not Cuccinelli.

  3. To put it simply Venu, this tragedy occurred in another sate. Virginia’s AG is not charged with enforcing federal mining regulation. And even in cases when a willful violation has been determined, (at less than 24 hours after the tragedy that is not the case), AND the local Virginia Commonwealth’s Attorney has decided not to prosecute, the Department of mining and minerals may request the AG to act. Not until.

Ben has been caught before using the tragedy of others for political gain, he probably will be again. Click my name for more info if you need it.

Nothing is more conservative than a republican wanting to get their majority back. And nothing is more liberal than a republican WITH a majority.
