For those on the left that are trying to spread the “you took Obama out of context” line, his ‘you didn’t build that’ comment is even worse when you consider the context.
If Obama’s logic were right, we would all own businesses.
His point in context is that we have Government to thank because without the internet, roads and bridges and the education we received, building a business would be impossible. Well, except for the fact that businesses predated government and roads were built initially by travelers trying to get to those merchants. Did you ever hear the old saying “beating a path to your door”?
These days, people prefer to pool their money pay and employees to build the roads. And yes, the Government works for the public despite Obama’s belief that it is the other way around.
Obama really has an upside down view of the role of the People and the Government.
Remember the words Obama used to tell the nation HE got Osama Bin Laden? I,I,I,…
Tonight, I can report … Bin Laden is dead.
I directed Leon Panetta
I was briefed on a possible lead to bin Laden
I met repeatedly with my national security team
I determined that we had enough intelligence to take action
I called President Zardari
But do you know what Obama didn’t say?
The word SEAL. The word BUSH. Water-boarding.
No, Obama wants you to think he acted alone. Rambo-Bama.
(The ‘I GOT Bin Laden speech’ transcript can be found here.)
The truth is, he did next to nothing. The intel that was gathered was not put in place by Obama. The plans were not devised by him and he did nothing more than sit in a comfortable bunker like a scared little boy as the real hero’s went into action and successfully executed the terrorist.
But in Roanoke, Va two weeks ago, this same man whose only real part in the Bin Laden kill was to get the hell out of the way, was less than generous in giving business owners and entrepreneurs credit for the risk they took to create a business. In fact, he was downright hostile to businesses in this speech.
look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something — there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there. (Applause.)
If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business — you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.
Well, somebody else made Osama Bin Laden dead. Not Barack Obama.
It’s easy to tell who made something happen. They are the ones wearing the sweat and blood and risking their own futures.
If you want to know the truth, the SEALS got Bin Laden and the business owners built that business.
And Obama was nothing more than a bystander in any of this. The only place this president works up a sweat is on the Golf Course. And he didn’t build that either.
