Obama’s Speech Shows His Presidency is ‘An Administration About Nothing’

First of all, blame is not a strategy. It is what you do when you are inept at handling things.

There was nothing in last night’s speech that surprised anyone, except maybe the left. Especially MSNBC. But it is nearly certain that they followed advice given to brides and grooms: Never go to bed mad.

So the following conversation on MSNBC should be considered a temporary anomaly:

(From Real Clear Politics)

Chris Matthews, Keith Olbermann and Howard Fineman react to President Obama’s Oval Office Address on the oil spill. Here are the highlights of what the trio said:

Olbermann: “It was a great speech if you were on another planet for the last 57 days.”

Matthews compared Obama to Carter.

Olbermann: “Nothing specific at all was said.”

Matthews: “No direction.”

Howard Fineman: “He wasn’t specific enough.”

Olbermann: “I don’t think he aimed low, I don’t think he aimed at all. It’s startling.”

Howard Fineman: Obama should be acting like a “commander-in-chief.”

Matthews: Ludicrous that he keeps saying [Secretary of Energy] Chu has a Nobel prize. “I’ll barf if he does it one more time.”

Matthews: “A lot of meritocracy, a lot of blue ribbon talk.”

Matthews: “I don’t sense executive command.”

There is no reason to believe Keith Olbermann did not kiss the picture of Obama that is surely at his bedside before retiring. And the same picture that Matthews bows down to and prays every night is still there. Hopefully the boys have seperate bedrooms, though.

Rachel Maddow is far too much the man to spew such venom at her president, as long as her personal special interests continue being met. And the Supreme Court nominee currently under consideration is surely a cause for celebration with Maddow. Oil spill? Who cares, right!

One note of real hope from last night’s speech: the same speeches that sent the left into orgasmic worship over Obama during the election are no longer working to mesmerize his subjects. Dead sea creatures are a more powerful image. Those that failed to fall for Obama’s bumper sticker campaign, long on soundbites and short on substance, are vindicated. Obama is absolutely clueless when it comes to leadership. The lack of executive experience does matter.

Really? We need to stop focusing on the oil spewing millions of gallons of death flowing unfettered into the Gulf and look towards green energy and massive taxes to solve the problem. Oh, and let’s not forget the promise to destroy BP and the jobs that they provide.

There is a time to look at who will pay. That time will come after the disaster is resolved. Obama has become nothing more than an ambulance chaser with his threats to make those responsible pay. But the immediate problem is the arterial spray of oil that endangers the entire planet.

And pushing his liberal agenda at this time is simply unacceptable.

The Jerry Seinfeld Show was often billed as a “show about nothing”. Obama has so marginalized his office that he has become an “Administration about nothing”.

And this president is so narcissistic that any suggestion he is inept will not be received well. And, unfortunately, will be ignored.
