Tertium Quids posted a link to an amusing blog by Pat Murphy entitled “REPUBLICAN BLOGGERS DRINKING THE KOOL-AID“. I must say I was not familiar with Murphy, but I did get a chuckle out of his post. Not that I found his thuggish “wit” amusing, I did not! He comes off with all the charm and refinement of a school yard bully. What I find amusing is that he seems to think he has all the answers, but offers no solutions, only taunting criticism.
A Regional Taxing Authority is clearly not an ideal way to solve the problems in Northern Virginia, nor is it within the scope of any single county or city. But living in Richmond, I don’t like like to see so much of my tax money leaving Richmond to solve the problems of NOVA. It must really tick off people in Big Stone Gap! A regional tax authority at least places the burden of finance on those that created the problem, and may serve to limit the population growth.
But we all know RTA’s would not stop there. Tidewater would be next, then Richmond. Big Stone Gap by 2015. So as I drive down I-295 that reminds me of the Baghdad Airport after we dropped the bombs to disable that airport, I find it of little comfort knowing the “Mixing Bowl” Springfield exit is now pristine, thanks to my tax dollars.
Pat Murphy blasts McDonnell in several posts for expanding government, yet demands the Jamestown ferry continue full service. In reading a few of his posts, it seems Murphy favors smaller government and expanded services.
As the famous philosopher Larry the Cable Guy once said, I don’t care who you are. That there’s funny.
Keep ’em coming Pat. I just canceled my Cartoon Network subscription. You are my new Sponge Bob. At least my Patrick the Starfish.
