What if I just wanted to be an American?

What if I refused to allowed people to label me according to my gender, my class, my religion, my politics, my sexual preference, my marital status, my facebook status, or my personal moral philosophies? What if I believed that I was an individual and that as an individual I deserved equal rights and justice under the law with all other Americans, regardless of any arbitrary designations?

What if I didn’t blame my circumstances on the free actions and merits of others? What if I refused to accept envy or greed as legitimate motives for the impetus of my life? What if I took responsibility for the course, the spirit, and the success of my life? What if failure wasn’t a reason to search for blame, but a lesson upon which to craft future success? What if I didn’t want welfare, free healthcare, tax-credits, subsidized college loans, or free food?

Then I would be in direct opposition to the current United States Government.

What if I didn’t accept that my government had the authority to establish a society engendering the denigration and consequential catastrophies that I reject?

Tough luck for me. Too bad. Constitution or no Constitution, this is America. This is a Democracy, they tell me, and Constitution or no Constitution, this is the kind of Government I’m going to get. If I don’t like it, I should just move to wherever.

Ah, yes. But I don’t like it and my liberty is my heritage. I won’t leave. Whatever a liberal has made, we can see unmade. Whatever a liberal has built, we can tear it down. Whatever these Statists have done to America can be undone by Americans. Faced with this government and this culture, what other cause could warrent more of our time and dedication?

Nothing is more conservative than a republican wanting to get their majority back. And nothing is more liberal than a republican WITH a majority.
