Why Are Republicans So Confused Over Immigration?

Bearing Drift just excoriated the Bull Elephant over immigration.

So let’s look at immigration.

The Republican Establishment continues to fund President Obama’s executive amnesty for a reason – they want the cheap labor. The Libertarian Party tends to support open borders, because we don’t believe in discrimination. However, we have a massive prison state and welfare state that seems to absorb our immigrant populations, and instead of benefiting from immigration to our country, we are subsidizing it.

I want free immigration to the United States for the best and the brightest; but we can’t have a “legal system” that ends up creating an immigration policy which invites people into our prison and welfare state.

We need immigrants, but we also need assimilation. We need decades of immigration and decades of assimilation.

blog_republican_splitIdeologically, our opinions on immigration are moot. The fact is that the Chamber of Commerce is bringing in poor, uneducated immigrant labor to drive down the cost of labor in America. Republicans and Democrats are fighting over the illegal immigrant population because both parties want their votes the second they are naturalized. Why haven’t they been naturalized, because neither party will support naturalization until they know for a fact that they’ll get their votes. In the meantime, they fight for their support. Citizen? Screw you. You’ve probably already made up your mind.

What conservatives and libertarians need to ask themselves, is that if immigrants are being brought into this country to lower wages and provide the Democrat Party with voters, then isn’t that a broken immigration system? Let’s scratch all the pro-Mexican and anti-Mexican claptrap. Race and nationality has nothing to do with this. We’re importing poverty and cheap labor. Yes, both Democrat and Republican politicians benefit, but do you? Does your family? Does your community?

I suggest reshaping our government and our society into something that can welcome self-reliant immigrants with open arms, with excitement, and with our full throated support!

Every American confused about immigration policy should go to the link below: What if Illegals left?

Congressman Jim Jordan told a Republican crowd from the 7th District earlier this year that most illegals coming from Mexico and Central America earn less than $20,000 per year. Which means that if they have 2 kids in school ( $24,000 per year in education costs) it is costing American taxpayers more than they are earning. And most are on medicaid, foodstamps, and public housing, school lunch program, etc. We can\’t afford any more illegal immigration. One classroom in Elmont Elementary School in Hanover County has 2 pupils who are non English speaking and that teacher is costing taxpayers $70,000 per year to teach 2 kids. Hanover County is now teaching 27 languages in the public school while one high school has lost its accreditation in math. Now do you see? Read the link below before you advocate for open borders, Lib Tards. This is why the Libertarian Party will never win. You can’t equate Trump’s popularity in the polls to American’s disdain for illegal immigration.

I don’t think most people understand assimilation. We have heard about America being a melting pot bringing many different nationalities, races ,cultures to our shores. Sounds good doesn’t it? Assimilation occurs in a nice orderly fashion as long as there are not too many of a given group coming in over a short period of time. What actually happens with the immigration we see going on now will not be an assimilation resulting in a melting pot instead it will be a boiling pot. Large numbers of a given group would take centuries to come together and will result in a culture that will be foreign to both groups. Already you see these different groups trying to change the laws and culture they are coming into. Not only the Muslim nations but also those coming across our southern boarder. Several years ago a large group of Mexicans in Southern California were demonstrating and marching while holding up the Mexican flag. Their life experience, language, and culture is totally different but it is what they know and this is what brings them together. Look at any sociological study on assimilation. Along with our inability to provide jobs, schools etc. for this mass of new immigrants, we have a downward spiral in our economy. The future for this country is getting dimmer and dimmer each day.

    Interesting Statistics!

Here are 14 reasons illegal aliens should vacate America, and I hope they are forwarded over and over again until they are read so many times that the reader gets sick of reading them:

    1. $14 billion to $22 billion dollars are spent each year on welfare to illegal aliens (that’s Billion with a ‘B’)

    3. $7.5 billion dollars are spent each year on Medicaid for illegal aliens.

    4. $12 billion dollars are spent each year on primary and secondary school education for children here illegally and they still cannot speak a word of English!

    5. $27 billion dollars are spent each year for education for the American-born children of illegal aliens, known as anchor babies.

    6. $3 Million Dollars ‘PER DAY’ is spent to incarcerate illegal aliens. That’s $1.2 Billion a year.

    7. 28% percent of all federal prison inmates are illegal aliens.

    8. $190 billion dollars are spent each year on illegal aliens for welfare & social services by the American taxpayers.

    9. $200 billion dollars per year in suppressed American wages are caused by the illegal aliens.

    10. The illegal aliens in the United States have a crime rate that’s two and a half times that of white non-illegal aliens. In particular, their children, are going to make a huge additional crime problem in t he US.

    11. During the year 2005, there were 8 to 10 MILLION illegal aliens that crossed our southern border with as many as 19,500 illegal aliens from other terrorist countries. Over 10,000 of those were middle-eastern terrorists. Millions of pounds of drugs, cocaine, meth, heroin, crack, guns, and marijuana crossed into the U.S. from the southern border.

    12. The National Policy Institute, estimates that the total cost of mass deportation would be between $206 and $230 billion, or an average cost of between $41 and $46 billion annually over a five year period.

    13. In 2006, illegal aliens sent home $65 BILLION in remittances back to their countries of origin, to their families and friends.

    14. The dark side of illegal immigration: Nearly one million sex crimes are committed by illegal immigrants in the United States!

Total cost a whopping $538.3 BILLION DOLLARS A YEAR

Immigration and the welfare state – Come to the US, we will take care of you until you get on your feet, even if that takes a lifetime.

Libertarians advocate open borders, an impractical premise for a welfare state. You reject complete open borders, but advocate selective immigration. Does this not contradict the libertarian immigration policy? So, you are not philosophically pure in the matter. Consider the following:

    1. The US has a population of about 310 million. That’s a lot of people. I believe it forms a critical mass large enough to provide genius in about any field of endeavor.

    2. I speculate ( with high probability ) that good STEM colleges exist in every state. US employers don’t need green card holders to fill STEM jobs. The home grown supply is copious and many are living in basements of parents.

I want all immigration, legal and illegal, ceased, a complete moratorium. It was done last century. Assimilation takes time, at least a generation. I would hope that all Americans can throw a baseball, have a passing understanding of, and respect for, the Declaration of Independence, and know that corps is not pronounced like a dead body.
