One of the many websites I read daily with great enthusiasm is feministing.com. I noticed today, one of the workers at the clinic posted a message about this week’s abortion flap. In the post, she claims that Don Marks from Deed’s Richmond campaign asked the clinic to remove the signs.

Public pressure has caused the abortion clinic to take down the Deeds signs. I drove by there around 2:00 PM today and all the signs are gone.
This was an exercise in poor judgment by an abortion clinic. These places are lightning rods for controversy and to put up a political sign is to ask for lightning. While their trade is as distasteful, providing mostly convenience abortions at $300 or $400 a pop, they would be wise to not ask for attention and beg for controversy.

I just phoned the Abortion Clinic and asked the receptionist (who refused to give her name) if they placed the signs on their property. I was told they had placed them there. I asked to speak to the person responsible, and after a couple of minutes on hold, was asked for my number and promised a call back.

My post from last night, prompted by several women who were outraged at an abortion clinic attempting to increase business with Creigh Deeds help calls for folks to call them and honk the horn when you drive by.

I received several messages from friends who said they were shocked and appalled that the Deeds campaign and an Abortion Clinic would team up to advertise for abortions. One friend said she almost ran into the curb, unable to believe what she was seeing.
