It looks like the news is very good: Breaking news – BOTH the AG and the Governor will support remedial legislation to correct the Virginia Primary Joke! ‘I remain very optimistic about our future. Americans are the hardest working, most industrious, and innovative, most entrepreneurial people in the world. And if we just let them, they will build more factories, start more businesses, hire more workers, produce more goods, and create more inventions. But first, government has to get out of the [...]

America is an extraordinary country. Every time you think you’ve got it sussed, it surprises you. It is the sheer diversity of the US that makes anti-Americanism so perverse. Norm Leahy over at Tertium Quids posted this story about Daniel Hannan’s address to a rural southern GOP committee. Hannan, who is an outspoken conservative and a champion of liberty, scolds the Republican Party for forgetting that it gained popularity for its early stance on state’s rights and individual liberty but had since abandoned that platform to tilt at windmills beyond its purvey. Let’s just say that he had an encounter he was not anticipating. I don’t LOL often…

The latest trend the Democrats are using at Town Hall Meetings is checking drivers licenses to make sure your address is in the district. Wouldn’t want some “nasty” outsiders to have access to the exalted legislators. Jim Moran (D-VA 8th) is just the latest to make use of this ridiculous tactic. Apparently access and influence are reserves for residents of the district. Well, Congressman, if you feel that way, how about returning the money you got from those outside of your district? For your campaign in 2008, your top 20 donors gave you $429,900.00. Of that total, only $118,700.00 came from within the 8th District. Nearly triple that total, $311,200.00 came from outside your district. Much of that from outside of Virginia. You should return that money as well as the rest of the donations from outside the 8th District. You will take money from outside, but not questions?
