As Secretary of Defense Leon Panetta got off of his plane during a surprise visit to Afghanistan, a nearby vehicle burst into flames. Fortunately Panetta was unharmed. Sources speculated that the vehicle was a part of the new Green Afghanistan Directive of the Obama Administration and was simply another Chevy Volt flaming out, but that [...]

Received this email a minute ago. I wholeheartedly agree with statement. Greetings Patriot! My experiences in Iraq go back to 1991 with Operations Desert Shield/Storm as a young Army Captain. I returned to Iraq in 2003 as a combat Battalion Commander for Operation Iraqi Freedom. It is a bittersweet moment for me to watch our Commander-in-Chief declare an end to Operation Iraqi Freedom and further combat operations. I have studied and been a part of half-measured warfare, and have seen its residual effects. My fear is that the heroic efforts of my fellow Warriors will fall to this lesson of history. Ending combat operations is not just a convenient political decision. As Carl von Clausewitz stated, “War is the imposition of one’s will upon another.” I found President Obama’s address on Iraq unnecessary, confusing, conciliatory, and lacking focus. There was never a definitive outline of strategic objectives to defeat the global conflagration against the radical Islamic theocratic-political ideology and non-state, non-uniformed belligerents against which we combat. Furthermore, the reference to the …

The folks over at Keep America Safe have just issued a Congressional score card based on votes in the area of National Security. A cross-section of votes between 2001 and 2010 was taken to reflect a range of national security topics. Twenty-nine votes were selected in the Senate, and twenty-seven were selected in the House. The votes reflect a range of topics from the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan to Guantanamo Bay and detainee issues to Iran to missile defense. Virginia: Cantor A Boucher C Connolly F Forbes A Goodlatte A Moran F Nye C Perriello F Scott F Wittman A Wolf A Texas: Most get A’s or B’s, with the notable exception of: Doggett F Edwards C Gonzalez F Green TX-9 F Green TX-29 F Hinojosa F Jackson-Lee F Johnson F Ortiz F Ron Paul F

In his first 20 months President Obama has claimed to be focused on the following issues, items, opportunities, etc. . Here we go; Goals that are clear and achievable in Afghanistan (Gates, McChrystal, and Petraeus are focused; Obama rarely mentions it)* The economy (If he has been focused on it, I question his intentions for it) His energy goals (Given that his energy goals include skyrocketing electricity rates and $8.00/gallon gasoline we should celebrate his failure on this). Making the middle class more secure and the country more competitive so that the jobs and industries of the future were not outsourced to China and India (I’m not…

The bile is rising up in my gut as this has been one of the most horrific weeks in American history. Sure, we’ve faced attacks and wars and death and other unspeakable attacks on America, but NEVER BEFORE have the American people been assaulted on so many fronts from WITHIN. Our Government is accelerating its attack on her own people in a Cloward-Piven, overwhelm the system, frenzy that makes this week historical. The following appears in no particular order. It’s a rant. Skip over it or get over it. No linking. Got questions? Put them in the comments and I’ll give you the particulars. As for this President and his birthday, may this be the first of many, long, lonely miserable birthdays that he suffers through as a failed one term (or hopefully less) President. As the rabbi said in Fiddler on the Roof…May God bless the Czar and keep him…very far away from us. Or something like that….

I do not often read Ann Coulter. She was critical of conservative lawyers several months ago on basic interrogation rights and I had to call her out. No word on how she felt about my criticism. But I could not miss this column: Bill Kristol must resign. I agree. He ought to leave the conservative movement. He [...]

For all the readers of Virginia Right (if any!) in Kentucky today I don’t have to say anything else! Vote for Rand Paul! Chris Stirewalt, the political editor at the Washington Examiner, is suggesting that Paul’s victory will make non-intervention, especially in Afghanistan, a more popular political issue: If Paul pummels Grayson in an election that [...]

Humility is one word for it. This president is directly responsible for more war deaths than any other Nobel Peace Prize winner in the history of the prize.
Fidel Castro is calling President Barack Obama’s accepting of the Nobel Peace Prize a “cynical act,” given that he is sending 30,000 more U.S. troops to Afghanistan.

When the going gets tough, and decisions need to be made, apparently President Obama needs a get away. Golf.
In his first 9 months in office, the Slacker In Chief has played more golf than President Bush did in almost a three year span.

This is not good news for President Obama. While he is showing an inability to make decisions on Afghanistan, unable to correct the job losses, and generally losing friends and allies in droves, the voters are not indecisive at all. In the latest Harris Poll, the ONE is now at 45% Positive and 55% Negative approval of his job performance.
