I have been playing catch up on several fronts and have yet to find the time to put down a few thoughts on a gathering last week at the US Capitol put together by Virginia Congressman Robert Hurt. I have met Congressman Hurt once or twice before, but only briefly. And I believe the first [...]

Odd thing. The Mainstream Media noticed that Obama’s approval ratings went up into positive numbers for the first time since June when they hit 47% approve and just 45% disapproved. Today, Gallup posted their numbers at a less favorable margin for Obama. Seems his approval has dropped back to 41% and the disapproval is back [...]

Update 8:08 AM: This is definitely a nationwide outage. I have seen reports from coast to coast online. Some areas are reporting that 3G has come back up – Washington DC and some smaller areas. Nothing yet in New York, and I have no 3G or 4G in the Richmond area. Are you looking for [...]

I’m having an R. Lee Ermy GEICO, “Tissue?” moment after reading this opinion piece on CNN. Apparently, life has been hell for this muslim since 9/11 . He feels that people eye him suspiciously. Sure, he admits that 9/11 was a terrible thing, but he’s in the camp that calls the hijackers a crazed minority. Missing from his storyare any references to the Fort Dix 6, Christmas Day Bomber, Daniel Pearl’s beheading, the incineration of the American contractors in Iraq, Major Hassan and the Ft. Hood massacre, and numerous other terrorist incidents carried out or attempted by more than just a few extremists. Some people have clearly decided that 9/11 gives them the right to persecute Muslims. And as a result, we are all collectively paying for the sins of terrorists — a radical, crazy few who just happen to share the same religious background. I’m sorry, but I don’t recall any stories about muslim persecution, or if there were any, they are very few and isolated. Considering what some muslims have done to us, brutal, heinous things, that restraint can only be characterized as remarkable. He’s …

The threat of terrorism has not subsided under the Obama Kiss ass and bow foreign policy. In fact, it has increased. President Bush managed to use all tools available to keep American’s safe despite the objections of Democrats to the Patriot Act and wire taps designed to prevent terrorism.
The Obama Administration has moved our national policy from one of preventing terrorism to one of reacting and prosecuting after the fact. As if the American justice system, with it’s potential world platform would frighten would be terrorists.

Obama is in full fledged denial.
“We feel very optimistic that the worst is behind us,” the president said Tuesday.
A visit to the Connecticut Department of Labor web site tells a different story:
Update on December 21, 2009: Due to the high volume of claim filing, you may experience some difficulty filing your claim via the Web or by telephone. We apologize for any inconvenience.

Proponents of higher and higher minimum wage mandates understand that the higher wages demanded by law will cost jobs. But they don’t care. To them, fewer jobs at higher wages are preferable.
But is it?

That’s what Candidate Obama said. Remember? Well, how’s that working out so far? It is very hard to miss the horrible unemployment numbers. The only good news in that arena since Obama became president has been an occasional week or month with fewer losses than another month. “We’re headed in the right direction” the Obama Administration likes to say. But we are headed down.
