This hit piece in the New Republic interested me very much for two reasons: I admire Senator Cruz very much and came out early for him in the primary last year. He’s a sovereignty guy and very good on liberty issues so far. But I also am interested in the “native born” clause of the [...]

It would be a really great idea if we could get an idea of what people thought and various leanings and the feelings of various groups of citizens. And it would also be wonderful if we had a way to tell if politicians were lying, being truthful or spinning a “fact” to make it seem [...]

While we were all debating the cost to our liberty due to the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), we were ignoring the cost to our pockets. If there ever was a reason for bipartisan rage about this law, it should be on the twenty – yes, twenty – hidden new taxes of this [...]

This is a dark day for the American people, the Constitution, and the rule of law. This is a dark day for American liberty. This decision goes against the very principle that America has a federal government of limited powers; a principle that the Founding Fathers clearly wrote into the Constitution, the supreme law of [...]

This post was written by Bob Shannon of King William, Va. When John Taylor of Virginia Policy Institute spoke at our meeting in March he explained how the word “Conservative” had been redefined . Today’s “conservative” believes if government is kept in check at current levels the goal of that philosophy has been met. Fueling [...]

The real question that will be answered by the Supreme Court in the ObamaCare case that begins today concerns the Commerce Clause and whether or not the Federal Government has any limits placed on it by the Constitution. We all know that the intent of the framers of the Constitution was to place the powers [...]

Although I am for Scottish independence under certain conditions, I totally oppose foreigners having a say in voting (as opposed to blogging I suppose!) in the independence referendum. Check out this article: DAVID Cameron last night faced a backlash from angry Tory back-benchers after it emerged that foreign nationals will have a say in the [...]

So, what happens when an energy industry advertising producer travels around the area seeking comments on American energy? Well, when he asked my opinion, I was only too happy to share it. President Obama has declared war on American energy and has said that with his plan the cost of energy will “necessarily skyrocket”. But [...]

In a huge VICTORY against the globalists, the officials of the City of Edmond decided to cancel its ICLEI membership! The Edmond Sun reported on Friday that the membership was being cancelled due to: “The benefits of the city’s membership are significantly outweighed by the negative perceptions of ICLEI that we have heard from people [...]

I’ve been thinking about the Sooner State after my research on the antics in Edmond; I know that the citizens of Oklahoma voted to deny the use of international law in judicial decisions (although that decision was promptly challenged in the Federal Courts). So, it occurred to me: Oklahoma is a RED state – let’s [...]

The RTD has a reader comment feature called Two Cents, where citizens can give brief opinions on a variety of topics. Today’s RTD on Dead Tree had a great one from C. E. Herndon from Chester, VA. I’d link it but my brief attempt at finding it on line proved fruitless. Democratic Party Chairman Tim Kaine claims the Tea Party movement will set this nation back 10 years. Ten years ago, gas was $1.59 a gallon.I was getting 3 to 5 percent raises, my health insurance was $10 a week, and my 401(k) grew by hundreds. And, there was no 9/11–we all felt safer then. We didn’t have a president who went around the world bowing and apologizing because we are the greatest nation on Earth. Thank you, Tim Kaine, for helping me to me make up my mind to join the Tea Party movement.

Our Socialist leaning President has nothing but praise for Europe’s humanitarian treatment of it’s citizens. Health care, employer mandates, taxes, taxes and more taxes. We should be just like them! But for now, we will just borrow the money and put it on a tab to be paid back with interest at a later date.
So, just how long must a single man in the UK work to have all these “free” benefits?
