I will be a guest on the Thomas Hayes-Morrison Show at 2pm today! It’s an experiment and perhaps a try out! We’ll see if I am up for the radio or as Tom White put it, “I have a face for the radio.” Well, I probably do have a face for the radio BUT we’ll [...]

Here I found a report that Cookeville, Tennessee has decided NOT to renew their membership in ICLEI! QUESTION: I would like to know what group, who was and/or responsible for getting Cookeville in the ICLEI (International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives) group of control? ANSWER: “In 2009 the City was approached by a group of [...]

The sore loser Democrats were just sent packing from an ill advised whine fest to the courts. Senator McEachin, the chief loser in the case needs to drink his sour grapes in the corner by himself and accept the verdict from the voters. The court just tossed McEachin on his ear. How could a legislator [...]

It had looked like the race in Senate District 17 was close, but incumbent Edd Houck (D) had pulled it out, giving the Democrats continued control of the Senate, but a late adjustment shows Republican opponent Bryce Reeves in the lead 22,536 votes to 22,450 giving the Republican a margin of victory of 86 votes [...]

Apparently, Virginian’s have come to their senses. According to a new Quinnipiac University Poll 54% of Virginians disapprove of the job President Obama is doing. It is about time! With the economy getting worse and worse on a daily basis, how anyone could believe that Obama is not in so far over his head he [...]

There is no cause for celebration about the debt deal that has now been passed. This represents little more than another typical Washington deal loaded with the largest debt extension in history on the front end and unenforceable spending cuts spread over a decade. And they are not even cuts, but rather minuscule reductions in [...]

The Path to Prosperity It is tempting to begin with an old cliche’ opening line like “It was the best of budgets, it was the worst of budgets,” but looking at the graphs to the left (click for a larger view), that would be an understatement. House Speaker John Boehner, Majority Leader Eric Cantor and [...]

Birds of a Feather Remember last week or the week before when it was being reported that Fidel said that the Cuban economy doesn’t work? Well just like a leftist, he’s back pedalled from that position, since like all good leftists, lying is second nature. Just ask Obama. The Cuban economy is in shambles and leftist apologists are working to get sanctions removed before Fidel and his brother Raul have an unhappy encounter with the people they betrayed. Fidel said what he said, but now disavows it as it is proving to be a bit uncomfortable for him. Frank Calzon at the South Sentinel lays out the scene. Cuba, once the largest sugar producer in the world, is now importing sugar for their own needs. That is yet another symptom of the Cuban government’s command and control economy, something that the…

The Tory Diary at ConservativeHome (that excellent web site that I look at often and you should too) speaks on the subject that Parliament will not allow: A referendum on Great Britain’s EU membership. Tim Montgomerie concluded: I ‘came out‘ as someone who thinks Britain would be ‘better off out’ last May. When I read [...]

Money is an essential in our lives. It may be a necessary evil: “For the love of money is the root of all evil;…” (I Timothy 6:10 [KJV]) Regardless of its power for evil or good, we need a medium of exchange to reward our work and to pay for our needs and wants. If [...]

That’s what Candidate Obama said. Remember? Well, how’s that working out so far? It is very hard to miss the horrible unemployment numbers. The only good news in that arena since Obama became president has been an occasional week or month with fewer losses than another month. “We’re headed in the right direction” the Obama Administration likes to say. But we are headed down.

The leadership of our Congress has vowed to sign a treaty to pass the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. If they succeed, all of the state specific legislation that protects the rights of parents to control the upbringing and education of their children will be overridden by whatever a committee of UN bureaucrats thinks is appropriate. The consequences are severe, from outlawing of homeschooling, to mandatory sex education and much more. Please watch this video and pass it along to others. We are still in time to stop this treaty.

My thanks to Waldo, Venu, Josh and all that tuned in to the glitch fest. I would like to think to was due to a server overload from all the people tuning in.
As soon as we find a solution, we will (hopefully) be able to reschedule another date.

Internet companies and civil liberties groups were alarmed this spring when a U.S. Senate bill proposed handing the White House the power to disconnect private-sector computers from the Internet.
They’re not much happier about a revised version that aides to Sen. Jay Rockefeller, a West Virginia Democrat, have spent months drafting behind closed doors. CNET News has obtained a copy of the 55-page draft of S.773 (excerpt), which still appears to permit the president to seize temporary control of private-sector networks during a so-called cybersecurity emergency.

In the new audio ad Deeds is circulating, the only thing you hear from the Democratic candidate for Governor is the “Paid For” blurb at the end of the audio.
But you do hear a lot from Barack Obama. Is is no secret that Obama is a Socialist. He has already taken over most of the banks and industry in the country, and wants to own Health Care. But Obama claims in the ad that Deeds is “Cut from the same cloth” as Obama.

The Creigh Deeds ads paid for by various special interest groups are hitting the internet casting blame on Bob McDonnell, the Republican nominee for Virginia Governor. You may have seen them. A poor unemployed person blames McDonnell for his benefits running out. If only McDonnell had taken the money, he could live comfortably off of the largess of President Obama, who borrowed the money he wants to give away at our expense.
He is being very generous with our money, isn’t he?
