Speaking on the Senate floor this morning, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell said, “Inauguration Day is also a time for new beginnings, a chance to learn from the mistakes and missed opportunities of the past as we re-engage in some vitally important debates about our future. Too often over the past four years, political considerations have trumped [...]

Ah, September! It’s one of the more interesting months, somehow not quite summer but not quite Autumn. It’s a transition month between the two, a time for ramping things up as we head for the year’s end. And that’s never more true than in an election year. The conventions, watched by one of the smallest audiences [...]

The Senate is considering what seems on its face like a non-controversial UN treaty: the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. But it is controversial or it ought to be! I have blogged on this before. (Remember Sandy’s rule on UN Treaties: Bad UN law is repetitious!) But as Heritage Foundation testified today [...]

Republican Presidential hopeful Ron Paul and his supporters have complained that the media has been ignoring Paul. And they are correct. I knew the Young Turk Kwasi Kwarteng would distinguish himself in Parliament. I figured it might be months or years but in Kwarteng’s maiden speech he came out firing ideas. No fluff speech here! As ConservativeHome reports: “I have to say—even though this is a maiden speech, I will be controversial—that to hear Labour Members [...]

Democrat Tom Shields is running in the 73rd Virginia House District and calling himself a “New Generation Of Independent Leadership“.
His opponent, Republican John O’Bannon M.D. has pointed out at several debates that Shields’ office is in the Democratic Party of Virginia Office Suites and that the Democrats are sending mass mailings on Shields behalf that are not truthful and totally dishonest.
