Government Motors as they have come to be known, has finally made a profit. Today, the Government owned auto manufacturer reported a profit of $865 million.
Really?
We were recently told that GM paid off it’s debt to the US Government, in full, with interest and ahead of schedule. As we now know, this was a lie perpetrated on the American people by the Obama Administration. GM received $52 billion from the US government and $9.2 billion from Canada. During their bankruptcy, most of this debt was either forgiven, or converted to stock owned by the US Government. In the end, GM supposedly only owed the US $6.7 billion, which was the amount repaid. No doubt Toyota is facing a major hurdle with the recall issues facing the company. The issue of gas pedals sticking is a serious one that must be addressed. And Toyota is in the process of doing just that.

That’s what Candidate Obama said. Remember? Well, how’s that working out so far? It is very hard to miss the horrible unemployment numbers. The only good news in that arena since Obama became president has been an occasional week or month with fewer losses than another month. “We’re headed in the right direction” the Obama Administration likes to say. But we are headed down.

Now it is all clear. A few weeks ago, Virginia Right! did a post on the mandatory destruction of the “clunkers” that were turned in exchange for up to $4,500 from the federal government. This link shows the intentional destruction of a perfectly fine vehicle that had been traded in for a new car. The bizarre video displays a scene so illogical that it boggles the mind. What possible reason could the government have for requiring such a destructive and illogical act?
