‘It is not enough for the President to talk about producing energy in America. We call on him to put policies in place that cut the bureaucratic red tape and put Americans to work.’ WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-Texas) released the following weekly Republican address. Full transcript of Senator Hutchison’s Address: [...]

In his news conference last Friday, President Obama said something that struck many observers as interesting. He told reporters, “Last year, American oil production reached its highest level since 2003. Let me repeat that. Our oil production reached its highest level in seven years. Oil production from federal waters in the Gulf of Mexico reached [...]

No matter the disaster we know we can count on President Obama to be AWOL on leadership. As the images of a meltdown pour in from Cairo and all over Egypt, Obama plays the Nero card and fiddles around, hoping someone else will do something. We saw this inability to lead during the financial meltdown [...]

RICHMOND – The Obama Administration today suspended exploration for oil and natural gas off the coast of Virginia for at least the next seven years. Likewise, the Administration blocked similar development in the eastern Gulf of Mexico and the entire Atlantic and Pacific coasts of the United States. Americans for Prosperity’s Virginia Director Ben Marchi [...]

Recently, President Obama’s political strategy on policies that are problematic or controversial has been to double down instead of reevaluating or changing course. When polls showed the overwhelming majority of Americans disapproved of the massive health care bill during the winter and Massachusetts voters sent an unmistakable message by electing Sen. Scott Brown, who campaigned [...]

Well, this is simply embarrassing. Barack Obama is leading us into a financial war with our closest ally – Britain.
From the London Financial Times:
UK industry expressed alarm yesterday at the “inappropriate” and increasingly aggressive rhetoric being deployed against BP by Barack Obama, US president, and warned that the attacks on the oil company could damage transatlantic relations.
The concerns come amid mounting political unease in Britain that attacks on BP for its handling of the Gulf of Mexico oil spill are being dictated by the politics of November’s midterm elections rather than normal regulatory considerations.

Barack Obama has been in office 504 days and oil has been spewing into the Gulf with no end in sight. Now a second oil platform has begun to leak.
This is what we call Trickle Down Incompetence. The lackadaisical and cavalier attitude Obama has taken with this spill is astonishing. His administration has failed to perform the required inspections of oil platforms, granted environmental waivers and taken an active role in causing this disaster. It may be decades before the Gulf of Mexico can recover.

The cynicism of Democrats and the Obama administration grows ever more audacious with each new proposal they take advantage of a crisis to push. It’s well known that White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel subscribes to a philosophy of what he once described as, “You never want a serious crisis to go to waste.” To that end, the White House is using the oil spill disaster in the Gulf of Mexico to push their job-killing carbon cap-and-trade legislation. But Senate Democrats have their own cynical legislative proposal this week, which uses the oil spill as an excuses to raise taxes to expand the oil spill clean-up trust fund, but then raids the fund to instead pay for other spending, like state Medicaid bailouts.

It is an amazing thing to listen to some of the left wing media and politicians finally seem to realize that President Obama has screwed up. For the past 18 months, the man could do no wrong. Despite an economy that has not yet reached bottom, they pretend we are in recovery. They gleefully talk about how great it is that new unemployment numbers fall, on occasion, never mentioning that the true number is nearly double what they are reporting. And that even though the losses slow a bit, we are still hemorrhaging jobs.

By repeatedly assigning blame to energy giant BP Plc and focusing ire on the government agency responsible for regulating offshore drilling, Obama has deflected criticism that his administration was sluggish in its initial response to the Gulf of Mexico spill.

BP paid Barack Obama large sums of money. As we have seen, Obama’s benefactors are rewarded with whatever enrichment they seek. Pay for play is the Chicago way.

On April 20, 2010 a massive explosion destroyed an oil drilling platform in the Gulf of Mexico and killed 11 people. The drill site has been belching oil ever since.
President Obama has been promising for weeks to get to the bottom of this, but has cast the blame totally on BP Oil, who leased the platform.
But what did Obama know and when did he know it?
News released over the last day now blames a methane bubble for the explosion. But it seems that all of the survivors knew what happened before they even left the platform in the life boats. Methane gas bubbles are nothing new to oilmen. There are a known danger, but there has never before been so massive a bubble appear during the critical operation the platform was conducting.

While President Obama was laughing it up at state dinners, oil belched from a pipe in the Gulf of Mexico. For 10 days, the Obama Administration downplayed the seriousness of the threat.
Drilling for oil from offshore platforms is not free from risk. Safeguards are in place to prevent spills, or at least limit the damage. But like airplanes and spacecraft, no matter how safe the systems may be, no matter how many backup systems are in place, sometimes it is not enough to prevent disaster.

Perhaps Iran is feeling a bit sorry for Obama these days. The economy is spinning out of control, jobs are drying up, mine explosions, cheating on his wife, losing his majority, and Obama becoming a laughing stock to the world, things look pretty bad for Obama.
This offer from yet another country that is thumbing their noses at him is worth considering. At least Iran knows how to get things done.

As the blue winter ends and the warm red shades of spring and summer are welcomed by Virginians, the agonizing screams of the left wing progressive blue blogs can be heard over the roar of Virginia’s rivers, swollen by the melting remnants of what the left calls global warming. But these cries are not because Virginians and most Americans are seeing the lies and venom of the left, no indeed.
These are the howls of left wingers that were hoping Northrup-Grumman would relocate it’s Headquarters to Maryland. Or more correctly, anywhere but Virginia.

It has yet to be determined what caused the explosion of an oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico, but there is good news to come out of such tragedy.
The safeguards engendered into the platform worked. There is no oil leaking at the bottom of the ocean, nor at the surface.
