Every week on Monday morning , the Council and invited guests weigh in at the Watcher’s Forum, short takes on a major issue of the day. This week’s question:Can the Republican Party come back, or will a new party emerge? The Glittering Eye:Of course the Republican Party can come back. Right now its major problems [...]

I was and am elated when Senator Rand Paul ran these ads in Florida and West Virginia about their senator’s support for foreign aid for Egypt, Libya and Pakistan! I would not wait: No aid to any nation except maybe Israel! Well, Senator Manchin didn’t like his ad very much: Manchin said many senators thought [...]

Tom White and I “met” electronically and decided at almost the speed of light: Virginia Right endorses TED CRUZ for US Senate! A few reasons why (from Wikipedia): Cruz has been endorsed by David Barton, founder and president of WallBuilders,[15] the Club for Growth, a conservative political action committee,[16] Erick Erickson, editor of prominent conservative [...]

Read it from the San Francisco Chronicle: A treaty governing the high seas is all but dead in the Senate as two Republicans announced their opposition Monday, giving conservative foes the necessary votes to scuttle the pact. Sens. Rob Portman of Ohio and Kelly Ayotte of New Hampshire – both mentioned as possible running mates for [...]

A couple of early visitors walked through the blogger’s lounge. Senator Jim DeMint rocked the house and took a few minutes to talk to the bloggers. A while later, Governor Rick Perry walked through and answered questions.

There is no cause for celebration about the debt deal that has now been passed. This represents little more than another typical Washington deal loaded with the largest debt extension in history on the front end and unenforceable spending cuts spread over a decade. And they are not even cuts, but rather minuscule reductions in [...]

I saw two interesting articles about Sen. Lindsey Graham (R- SC): Here’s one by Daniel Horowitz where apparently he said on one of the Sunday talk shows that the Congress should “shut up” about Libya. Horowitz echoes what I said about 2014: As for Lindsey Graham, 2014 cannot come soon enough. There is no reason [...]

Time for Honest, Courageous Leadership, not Poll-Driven Platitudes Last week when the Washington Post asked George Allen where he stands on the Ryan budget plan – Allen dodged. And yesterday, when the Washington Post asked Tim Kaine how he would’ve voted on the Obama budget – Kaine dodged. Jamie Radtke is not dodging the [...]

… as soon as tomorrow! The momentum is really picking up to stop this law. The Republican controlled house passed H.R. 2. just a few weeks into the 112th congress. Yesterday, Federal Judge Roger Vinson became the second federal judge to rule Obamacare as unconstitutional. In the U.S. Senate, Sen Jim DeMint was able to [...]

Over the last year or so, in between the brush wars of the 2009-2010 election cycle, I have kept an eye on the actions taken by Senator Jim DeMint of South Carolina… and I have been impressed. What I have witnessed over this period is a that Jim DeMint is an unapologetic, dyed in the wool, Ronald Reagan conservative, even when its inconvenient. He has done whats right, even in the face of opposition from his own party. He has supported, through his Senate Conservative Fund , and personnel endorsements a host of CONSERVATIVE candidates for the US Senate, including, Marco Rubio…

The Judge – my first recommendation to President Paul if he is elected our first constitutionalist Chief Executive to the Supreme Court – Judge Andrew Napolitano, star of Freedom Watch, is now a regular on the Fox Business Channel. Here’s an article (actually very positive considering the source) from the New York Times. This month, [...]

The good folks at Civic Forum PAC wrote an article on the Democratic Nominee from South Carolina that the Democrats are all attempting to have committed, arrested, or… something.

What a move by the Republicans!
So, do we have freedom of choice or not? Democrats believe strongly in the Constitutional “right” for a woman to chose to have an abortion, but the mandatory requirement that everyone purchase health care really does not give us much of a choice about our health, now does it?
