Folks, I don’t know how else to categorize this but we are living in a dying country. Only 88,000 new jobs were added last month when we were expecting more like 188,000. The unemployment rate, because of this terrible statistic, is down to 7.6% because so many people are no longer counted as if they [...]

A new Rasmussen poll shows that 31% of Americans give Obama passing marks on the economy. These people are either idiots who are not Progressives, or Progressives who are idiots. And all Progressives are idiots, it is a requirement. This is also proof positive that math skills in our schools need to be improved. After [...]

The president “got very agitated” and said, “Don’t call my bluff; I am going to the American people,” said Cantor, a Virginia Republican. Obama “shoved back from the table” and left, Cantor said. (NewsMax.) Reportedly, what precipitated this 2-year-old like temper tantrum was Eric Cantor’s effort to let Obama know what the House will pass. [...]

It is astonishing that after the results of last November’s election to think that some of Virginia’s Congressmen think that voters were just kidding. Here is a message: We were not kidding! The more intelligent voters certainty understand that the house simply cannot pull an unrealistic number out of thin air that would, A) be [...]

First, you have to find the cause of the problem. A frequent scenario in the NFL is watching two players go after each other after the play is dead. Now, common sense dictates that the issue most likely began prior to attention being drawn to the fight. The referee may or may not have seen [...]

Statement by Jamie Radtke on Impending Vote to Increase the Debt Ceiling President Obama’s Chief Economic Advisor said this week that a failure to raise the national debt ceiling would be “a sign of insanity” and “catastrophic.” To the contrary, it would be a sure sign of insanity for Congress to repeat its past mistakes [...]

This continuing series about the Maine GOP Platform took an interesting turn yesterday at the United States Supreme Court. First, let’s cite the pertinent sections of that radical off the wall document: Oppose any and all treaties with the UN or any other organization or country which surrenders US sovereignty. Specifically: i. Reject the [...]

The Washington Post published a rather disturbing article yesterday on Senator Creigh Deeds, the Democratic Candidate for Governor last year.
While this blog supported Bob McDonnell in that race, during the process, I came away from the race with a lot of respect for Senator Deeds.

Last fall in Virginia, voters looked at crumbling roads, a shaky economy and an education system whose costs have spiraled out of control, and they elected the candidate who offered the most honest, credible, workable solutions to those problems. They appreciated that you stayed on message and kept the discussion about issues and not the personalities of your opponent or President Obama. Americans want their political leaders to succeed, and you seemed much more prepared for success than your opponent.

Fed up with the lack of leadership in Washington D.C., Virginia shook off the Blues and put on her Red dress and painted the town last night. The message was clear and unmistakable. Democrats are leading us down the wrong path. Virginia will no longer follow.

Many of you will remember that in last November’s election, Virginia
refused to count the absentee ballots of many active duty military
members because electoral boards failed to mail those ballots to them
in time for them to be returned by Election Day. I wrote to the State
Board of Elections and urged it to do the right thing by counting
those ballots, arguing that while the election might be over,
the votes of the brave men and women serving abroad should never be dismissed as “moot.”

As if we did not need any more things to worry about from Washington, there is the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child. This treaty, promulgated by the UN General Assembly in 1989, has been ratified by every nation (including such libertarian paradises as China, Iran and Zimbabwe) except, it seems Somalia and the United States of America. This treaty may be well-intended but it is a clear threat to our national sovereignty, the rights of parents to raise and educate their children and religious liberty.
