Under enormous political pressure to “do something” about the Gulf oil spill, President Obama has sent Federal Prosecutors to look for and prosecute BP officials and workers. If there is one corporation or entity on the planet with a vested interest in shutting off the flow of oil, it is BP. They will be held accountable for every drop spilled, and future drilling in deep waters will undoubtedly be more difficult as the horrors of the oil wash ashore.

The leadership of our Congress has vowed to sign a treaty to pass the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child. If they succeed, all of the state specific legislation that protects the rights of parents to control the upbringing and education of their children will be overridden by whatever a committee of UN bureaucrats thinks is appropriate.
