I OWE A HUGE APOLOGY to TALK OF THE SOUND…HERE it is!

I am owing a huge apology to Robert Cox and the Talk of the Sound.  It is a lot more than just a blog group:  They are a local media source that dares to take on local officials on issues of all sorts and project a good image for their community.  It’s easy to call [...]

Virginia Right! News – Brand New ‘Drudge Style’ Site Launched!

As a political news junkie, I spend a good bit of time watching for interesting news. Some I just put in my head hoping to remember it for future reference, other bits make it into posts I write. But all of it is important at some level. Of course, Drudge is one of those sites. [...]

Tim Kaine’s Union Thugs Attack and Assault Fellow Blogger and FreedomWorks Activist

Well, that didn’t take long. As the media exposed Tim Kaine’s role in “organizing” protests around the country, the Kaine instigated violence has begun. A PERSONAL TRIBUTE TO PRESIDENT RONALD WILSON REAGAN

On President Reagan’s 100th birthday, today, Super Bowl Sunday, I had to reminiscence at bit on the impact Reagan had on me. Let’s start with this:  An unknown American author named Harold Bell Wright wrote an obscure book called That Printer of Udell’s.  It’s a story about a local printer who starts a movement in [...]

McConnell on Earmarks: The People Have Spoken—I’m listening

`Unless people like me show the American people that we’re willing to follow through on small or even symbolic things, we risk losing them on our broader efforts to cut spending and rein in government. That’s why today I am announcing that I will join the Republican Leadership in the House in support of a [...]

Eric Cantor Op Ed: A step toward curing Washington’s spending disease – eliminating earmarks

Congressman Cantor has an excellent OpEd column on Politico today: House Republicans took an unprecedented stand in March, imposing an immediate moratorium on earmarks for the remainder of the Congress. Yet, because the governing rules of one Congress cannot bind the next, this moratorium will expire on Jan. 3, 2011. I do not believe that [...]

GOP Phone Calls for Donations Turn To Harassment

Yesterday morning I received a phone call at work. On my cell phone. The callerID was blocked.

When I answered, the caller immediately identified herself by first name and said she was calling for the Republican Party, although she did not say State or National. But I believe this was the Republican National Committee.

She pretty quickly asked for a donation (and I would have been disappointed if she had not asked).

Obama Administration Failed to Prepare for Oil Platform Spill

While President Obama was laughing it up at state dinners, oil belched from a pipe in the Gulf of Mexico. For 10 days, the Obama Administration downplayed the seriousness of the threat.

Drilling for oil from offshore platforms is not free from risk. Safeguards are in place to prevent spills, or at least limit the damage. But like airplanes and spacecraft, no matter how safe the systems may be, no matter how many backup systems are in place, sometimes it is not enough to prevent disaster.

Global warming, global warming, wherefore art thou?

If man has truly reached the point where he can cause the entire earth to warm by releasing CO2, and we also have the capability to reverse this trend by slowing the release – according to the warmers, then why use punishing means like Cap and Tax to go after people’s money?

Bin Laden Makes Ridiculous Claim That Obama Powerless

In a report on Fox News today, Osama Bin Laden called President Obama powerless. As an American I must take exception to this lack of respect and emphatically state that Obama is not powerless. Bin Laden simply does not know what he is talking about. Perhaps his satellite reception is a bit off this week, I can’t say.
