While President Obama was laughing it up at state dinners, oil belched from a pipe in the Gulf of Mexico. For 10 days, the Obama Administration downplayed the seriousness of the threat.

Drilling for oil from offshore platforms is not free from risk. Safeguards are in place to prevent spills, or at least limit the damage. But like airplanes and spacecraft, no matter how safe the systems may be, no matter how many backup systems are in place, sometimes it is not enough to prevent disaster.

Air America, the left’s answer to Rush Limbaugh is now silent. Beginning life in 2004 with their “bash Bush” format, and changing after the election of President Obama in 2008 to the “blame Bush” format, they have now proved to be as irrelevant as the “progressive” movement itself.

Most Conservatives warned them they are doomed to fail, despite massive amounts of money tossed in by wealthy elitists on the left. The total lack of valid ideas and a desire to recycle failed Socialist ideology leaves no room for intelligent discussion. Combined with the fact that the best and brightest hosts they could find were Rachel Maddow and Al Frankin, a pair that definitely have a face for radio, it comes as no surprise.

The Democrat Party of Virginia spent truckloads of money in a futile attempt to defeat Republican Incumbent Delegate John O’Bannon M.D. in the 73rd House District.

The landslide victory saw Dr. O’Bannon receiving an overwhelming 62.3% of the vote while Shields received only 37%, an embarrassing total considering the massive amounts of money that the DPVA spent on totally false smear mailings. It does go to show that the voters of the 73rd are far smarter than Tom Shields and his bosses Tim Kaine and Nancy Pelosi give them credit for being.
