12:54PM: I am in the media section with great seats in the back of the ground floor. I have seen and been greeted by too many to mention but I will mention one or two as I listen to the Lieutenant Governor candidates. I shout out to Del. Peace who provided the Hanover delegation with [...]

I am considering a circle of bloggers that like to write what I do: anti-ICLEI, anti-UN, pro-sovereignty and liberty, pro-UKIP and other liberty movements and leaders internationally, and similar issues. We would review nominated articles once a month. Members can nominate anything but their own writing (even on their own blog) for the award. I [...]

Once upon a time, when Reagan was ending a most successful Presidency, there was a political activist who had the itch for running for office. This activist did not realize how sexy local government is and wanted to run for House of Delegates or state Senate. Elwood Earl “Sandy” Sanders, Jr., was an attorney in [...]

This was a total victory for the Republican Party in Hanover County. Hanover is a solidly Republican county and removed every vestige of blue from the area. Sheriff, Commonwealth’s Attorney, Treasurer, Commissioner of Revenue and all 7 seats on the Board of Supervisors are now in Republican hands. Two incumbents on the board were Independents, [...]

ICLEI – formerly the International Council for Local Environmental Initiatives (now called ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability) is a UN-blessed organization of local governments that campaigns for sustainable development and so-called climate change both in the USA and abroad. Here is a summary of prior blog entries on it. It has foreign policy goals: [...]

I always hated the Army of One campaign because it was a Clinton era ploy to bring disunity to the Army. It was an engineered plot to try to bring the concept of individualism to our one size fits all fighting machine. It was about turning members of a cohesive unit into a thousands of me’s. That headline distracts somewhat from the rest of the content, but I’m not above using a cheap and tawdry headline to bring attention to this post. From our friend Allahpundit at HotAir , and I hate to lift both of these videos but this post would be a dead carp washed up on shore without doing so. So you have to do a pinky swear that you’ll go there and hit their site or I’ll have to hunt you down and talk about you like a dog. First, the pitiful Charlie Crist ad. And now the delicious rework that really tells the truth. I wish I knew how to…

Mark Fitzgibbons has a great post on American Thinker called ‘Compassionate’ nonsense aimed at the Tea Party that calls out George W. It has been rumored for some time now that the NRA (National Rifle Association) will endorse Harry Reid in the Nevada Senate race against the conservative Sharron Angle. This is confusing to most because while Sharron Angle is a 100% Second Amendment supporter, Harry Reid pretends to be pro-gun but uses his position in the Senate to undermine the right to keep and bear arms. While the NRA has gone out of their way to state that they have yet to endorse anyone in this race. For the record, the NRA-PVF has not yet made an endorsement in the Nevada U.S. Senate race . In fact, there have been no announced endorsements for any U.S. Senate seat for the November general elections—period. It is increasingly apparent that the Reid endorsement is coming. The August issue of the NRA magazines included a preemptive explanation for the unpopular recommendation titled Making Endorsements Count which regurgitates the NRA-PVF Endorsement Policy . They go on about being non-partisan and a single issue organization that …

Rep. Rick Boucher is asking voters to believe he was acting in their best interest when he voted for the coal killing cap and trade bill. Boucher was chairman of the energy sub-committee of the previous Congress which first drafted the legislation, and was deemed to be instrumental in the bills development. Boucher opened his pre-vote remarks on the bill by saying that he was in “strong support of the bill.” [ The challenger Morgan Griffith, one of the most influential and efffective members of the Virginia General Assembly, opposes the Obama/Pelosi/Boucher “cap and trade” scheme.
