This blog writer at the German Marshall Fund of the United States (found at Real Clear World) warns us solemnly: Let’s hope the Alternative for Germany fails for good: But absent a concerted and determined effort by Germans and all Europeans to refute AfD’s populism and consign it to political no-man’s land, the crisis in [...]

EXCITING NEWS! ConservativeHome is reporting a new poll conducted by Lord Ashcroft (I hope he’s related to my old hero, former AG John Ashcroft) showing this headline: Lord Ashcroft: Liberal Democrats 5% Ahead in Eastleigh But the headline should be: UKIP SURGES IN EASTLEIGH! Now, UKIP is in THIRD place, with 21%, NINE points over [...]

UPDATE: This is a good poll. I just received the cross-tabs from Gravis Marketing and the sample was 39% Democrats, 36% Republicans and 23% Other (Independents.) My only criticism is that there were too many Republicans and Democrats and too few Independents. But since the sample polled 3% more Democrats than Republicans and the relatively [...]

Rasmussen came out today with a new poll of 500 likely voters that shows the Virginia Senate race between Republican George Allen and Democrat Tim Kaine dead even at 45% each. But there are some very interesting numbers in the poll that might come as a bit of a surprise if you pay attention to the [...]

While the Democrats feverishly work to make up stuff about Paul Ryan, most do not believe their over-hyped ”sky is falling” screams. They have gone to the well far too often to cry wolf – or race card as suits their needs. But the Ryan pick by Mitt Roment has already closed the race to dead even in [...]

There are two kinds of polls. Those intended to “take the pulse” and get an accurate picture, and those skewed to attempt to influence thoughts and opinions. Political candidates hire pollsters to get an accurate picture of how they are doing, where they are doing well, and where they need improvement. These are the important [...]

Roanoke College has released a new poll of Virginians that shows the presumptive Republican Candidate for US Senate George Allen increasing his lead over Democrat Tim Kaine 45% to 37%. Ed West wrote in the Daily Guardian blog that the UKIP is surging in polls, especially among young people. Two recent YouGov polls have put UKIP on 5 per cent including one which, hilariously, put them above the Liberal Democrats in the 18-24-year-olds age group. The young know that they have decades to live (Lord [...]

A strange thing happened to Marco Rubio on his way to a Republican Primary victory over Charlie Crist. Crist decided he would rather run as an Independent than lose the Republican nomination to Rubio. Admittedly, Crist was looking at an embarrassing primary loss with Rubio polling at 57% to Crist’s 28%. So, Crist did the only honorable thing a career politician can do when his own party no longer wants him – he quit the party.
