Gone is the Balanced Budget Amendment, replaced by the usual “smoke and mirrors” of promised cuts that will never materialize. Worse, the Republicans are giving massive leverage to 6 Democrats on a Tax Panel to push for the very tax increase on the wealthy that Conservatives feel will absolutely crush jobs and unfairly tax businesses, [...]

This column in CNN by Maria Cardona made by blood boil. This writer eloquently describes the 87 members of Congress in the Tea Party Caucus as the “Tyranny 0f 87″ and in these terms: The tyranny is coming from the 87 members of Congress from the tea party caucus, whose selfish and irresponsible demands during [...]

To some on the right, any spending cut at the Federal level is a good thing. And that premise is hard to disagree with. But not all spending cuts are created equal. There is a dark side to non-specific, across the board spending cuts. The budget amendment offered by Marsha Blackburn (R-TN) is a case [...]

I was not going to blog on this issue but the combination of Senator Warner’s concern about the debt and Senator Sanders (no relation to this blogger!) ridiculous speech on the rich forced my hand. Let’s start with Senator Warner warning Virginians about hard times ahead. The Times-Dispatch reports that Warner was accurate that the [...]

My favorite Democrat (officeholder), Rep. Heath Shuler, is moving toward a run for Speaker of the House. “If there is no viable alternative, I will be running for speaker of the House,” Shuler said during a radio debate with Republican Jeff Miller, the Asheville Citizen-Times reported. My first comment is: Let’s make sure he’s running [...]

Looks like Tom Perriello, Democrate incumbent, is going to try to use President Obama to help close the gap in the VA 5th CD race. Robert Hurt, the Republican Candidate, is has been leading in the polls for some time though the lead has narrowed in recent weeks. Perriello’s Campaign announced today that President Obama [...]

How quickly things change. Just over a week ago, we wrote: As of today, August 22, 2010 Republicans could pick up a maximum of 12 seats in the US Senate giving them a total of 53 seats. And not one seat more. Well, we also said: With two and a half months remaining before election [...]

I am going to give you some straight dope. From the gut. It’s about November and what’s at stake. You may live in an area where you have to vote Democrat to have any say. There are still lots of areas like that all over Texas and all over the otherwise conservative South and up into Virginia. And because of that, you may as a natural conservative have a view of the Democrats locally or in your district that’s somewhat benign. Sure, Obama and Pelosi are awful, but my local guy, he ain’t so bad. That’s what you may tell yourself. But. If your legislative goals and priorities include a business-friendly economic environment, clean elections, educational choice, excellence in public education, fixing the financial problems at big state agencies…

Well, before getting to the answer for that question, I probably need to tell you who Ciro Rodriguez is. Basically, he’s Pelosi’s lackey in southwest Texas. He’s a Democrat Congressman, hailing from Texas’ 23rd Congressional District (until Quico Canseco beats him in November, anyway). You might recall that about a month ago, he went nuts and slapped a table when a constituent challenged his lack of understanding of Obamacare, which he had voted for. It may be that that video is having more far reaching effects on his campaign than Ciro is letting on. His campaign web site seems to have gone belly up. Click on cirorodriguez.com and see…nothing. Well, other than a generic page that’ll eventually pop up with helpful instructions on how to build a web site in minutes! Que pasa, Ciro?

I was inspired by this comment in a New York Post article about the absurd idea that the funding of opponents of the Ground Zero Mosque should be investigated: She [Pelosi] famously discounted the Tea Party as an “astroturf” movement, directed by the Republican Party. She couldn’t process the idea of a genuine grass-roots revolt [...]

That’s what the Dallas Morning News’ headline should say. Instead, for some reason they went with the more bland (though less accurate) headline: Pelosi pulled strings to let dying Dallas lawyer Baron try experimental cancer drug. Here’s the tale . Dallas’ top Democratic donors will cut big checks to share dinner later this month with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi . Most will be motivated by a desire to protect the party’s congressional majority. Lisa Blue will have an extra reason: to say thanks for Pelosi’s efforts when her husband, Fred Baron , was dying of bone marrow cancer. His only option was an experimental drug whose manufacturer refused to give permission to use it for Baron’s condition. “He was a big fan of hers, and now I am as well,” Blue said. … Somehow – Blue still isn’t sure how – Pelosi cajoled the FDA to find a legal justification that let Mayo administer the drug, even without Biogen’s consent. “Nancy figured out a way,” she said. Check out this kicker for fun. Blue has no illusion that…

Real Clear Politics averages the national polls, as well as some state polls, to give a pretty good snapshot of what the polls are saying. Today, the average job approval results for Obama are 44.7% approve, 50% disapprove. It should be noted that all of the polls are in negative territory for Obama except Reuters/Ipsos, [...]

For those of you thinking that Charlie Rangel has finally been caught, please don’t get your hopes up. The verdict is fixed, and Speaker Pelosi has spoken. There will be a bit of a “tough” theatrical show, Democrats will guffaw behind closed doors and Republicans will demand Rangel’s head on a platter, but the final [...]

Once again the people of the United States have allowed the Socialistic and Communistic Progressives to grab power in the country, and once again they have really made a mess of things.
The good news from the recent elections is that the only way to win elective office now is to run as far away from Obama, Pelosi and Reid as possible.

This was a Special Election to replace Democrat Murtha, now deceased. Democrat Mark Critz faced Republican Tim Burns in this Western Pennsylvania district with registered Democrats outnumbering Republicans 2 to 1. Despite the voter party affiliations, this is a very Conservative district.
Of course, Democrat Mark Critz won with 53% of the vote. There were high hopes in Republican circles that Tim Burns could pull this one out, but it was not to be. However, this will all get a do over in November, as Critz must run for reelection in the next general election. So, his win nets him 5 months, the remainder of Murtha’s term.

The Progressive Liberals are desperately searching for a silver lining in yesterday’s batch of primaries and elections. The spinners are feigning delight at the “victory” of Joe Sestak, a liberal Progressive that only a Socialist can love. And it is hard to blame the Democrats for celebrating the loss of 30 year career politician Arlen Specter. No one trusts Specter at this point.

The weather is different, but the message is the same. We are at a crossroads. Either embrace Obama’s socialism or return to the Constitution. Obama wants to build a Socialist utopia.
We are here because we have strong conservative and American values.
America was built on the backs of it’s citizens, not on the back of government.
We will not let Obama, Pelosi and Reid destroy this country. We will fight for freedom and we will fight for liberty and we will prevail.
