The results in the by-election in Oldham East were not very encouraging for liberty and sovereignty. The Labour candidate beat out the LibDem about about 3500 votes. Kashif Ali, the Tory candidate finished a poor third at nearly 13%. However, the UKIP picked up nearly two percent and solidly beat the BNP for fourth place. [...]
