It’s fundraisers galore, because Texas’ functioning economy means there are dollars to be had, when President Obama comes to Texas on Monday. Because he’s not popular in Texas at all – well, he’s not popular anywhere, but especially in Texas – the local Democrats have scattered like cockroaches. Even their gov nominee, the Bill White, evidently set up some last minute events on the other side of the state so that he wouldn’t be seen or photographed with the President. In a word, no. The “tough” UN Security Council resolution 1874 left out the “and if they refuse” part. Even if they had put teeth in the resolution, President Obama has already shown a lack of capacity to make decisions on any matter not relating to political payback. Of course, had the UN Security Council put teeth in a resolution they would run the risk of becoming relevant, something to be avoided at all costs. During the election, Obama always waited to see what everyone else would say or do on issues and try to take the most popular stance after the polls came out.
