As Predicted, Turncoat Boehner Pushes for Blank Check for Obama

President Obama knows. We all know. House Speaker John Boehner will cave. Oh, he will talk the talk and walk the walk right up to where he gives the other side everything they want. President’s Call for Tax Hikes ‘Counterproductive,’ McConnell Says

‘A bipartisan majority of lawmakers rejected the kind of tax hike on small business that President Obama endorsed today, and it was counterproductive of him to revive it. Americans want policies that will create the right climate for job creation — and that means cutting Washington spending, not squeezing family budgets even more than they [...]

The Ignorant Immorality of Government “Promise”

In light of the recent Wisconsin teachers’ debacle, I thought it prudent to examine the morality of government contracts in general—especially that legislation which includes long-term “guarantees”.  The following argument seems to be most prevalent among the teachers unions (and all similar beneficiaries at every level of government): “we were promised such and such at [...]

This is a more complete response to Jim Smyers’ comment about Heath Shuler.  (Thanks Jim for your comment!)  I’m not sure if it will help or hurt Rep. US Senate Briefing: Democrats’ Failure To Live Up To Promises Makes Americans Skeptical On Their Claims On Financial Bill

President Obama and Democrats in Congress are asking the American people trust them that their financial regulation bill ends bailouts, but over the last year Democrats have given Americans numerous reasons to be skeptical.

When Congress passed President Obama’s $862 billion stimulus bill, the administration was assuring members that the bill would keep unemployment around 8% and create 3 to 4 million jobs. Yet late last year the unemployment rate was 10.2% and has since hovered at 9.7%. And over 3 million jobs were lost during the course of 2009.
