An Embarrassing Reversal For Obama On Military Commissions

The New York Times reports, “The Obama administration, ending more than a year of indecision with a major policy reversal, will prosecute Khalid Shaikh Mohammed and four other people accused of plotting the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks before a military commission and not a civilian court, as it once planned. Attorney General Eric H. Holder [...]

Video Proves NPR is Biased and MUST Be Defunded

Last month during CPAC I spent an evening in Georgetown at a Pub called George, appropriately. There were a number of interesting people at this gathering put on by Civic Forum PAC , which they called A Night for the Right. I spoke with James O’Keefe and mentioned the fun I had with his Acorn [...]

Even in Texas, Democrat state Rep. Kristi Thibaut’s ACORN doesn’t fall far from the tree

Well looky there, ACORN has its own little nut in the Texas House.  The Texas Republicans peeled her bark in a press release today. Thibaut’s past is not unlike that of President Barack Obama; she too started out as a community organizer. And both did work for ACORN. Kristi even appeared at the State Capitol as a paid lobbyist for ACORN during the 2007 Legislative Session. ACORN activities have attracted the attention of law enforcement and prosecutors around the country, after they were exposed in a series of stings by a couple posing as a prostitute and a pimp, soliciting ACORN’s advice on how to operate their illegal enterprise without getting caught. Even the United States Congress condemned ACORN’s actions and cut off

Drunk Drivers Being Let Go. Where Is M.A.D.D.???

The important ruling in the Melendez-Diaz case which has been a much discussed topic on this blog and others, as well as other news sources has seen those charged with driving under the influence have their cases dismissed. Governor Kaine has come down in favorMADDLOGO of, well, we are not sure what he is in favor of. He wants to do something administratively. However, the consensus among most is that this is a problem that can only be fixed by the legislature.

In a letter published here yesterday, six prosecutors from around the state lay out a pretty compelling argument for a special session, and the sooner the better.

Is Democrat Steve Shannon Really That Clueless?

Steve Shannon hired a new campaign manager, Mike Henry, to try to make him appear to be a viable candidate. Mike needs to go back to the drawing board. Perhaps he is still reeling after managing Terry McAuliffe’s disaster of a campaign, spending money faster than President Obama and Nancy Pelosi combined with the same dismal results. Henry comes with a good history of results, managing Tim “The Absentee Governor” Kaine’s campaign as well as Mark Warner’s successful campaign for US Senate. Unfortunately for Henry and Shannon, George Bush is out of office and Obama is not doing so hot. For the first time, Henry will actually be forces to run a campaign against the actual opponent, rather than against an unpopular Bush.

Supreme Court Ruling May Legalize Small Amounts Of Drugs

The Supreme Court made a ruling last month that has prosecutors everywhere trying to figure out what to do. In the case of Melendez-Diaz v. Massachusetts, SCOTUS ruled that that the accused has the right to face their accuser. In this case, the Lab Technicians. Elwood “Sandy” Sanders wrote a guest blog which was published here a couple of days after the ruling. Sandy contacted me as soon as that ruling was handed down. Excellent foresight. You can read Sandy’s take on this important story here
