Parentalrights.org has made a great argument as to why we should not ratify the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD). I have largely incorporated it here at this blog post: But there is another treaty that has some of the fears that the UNCRC has (and which is generally shared with other [...]

I was misled slightly but materially by one of my sources about the Charles Taylor verdict. I thought it was the International Criminal Court but it is a special court set up by the UN and Sierra Leone instead: A distinction without a difference. The Special Court for Sierra Leone was set up with a [...]

While bills banning ICLEI have been introduced in several states, the best effort was quietly done in Arizona. The Senate and a House committee have voted to prevent the state and all its political subdivisions from implementing the Rio Declaration (That’s where Agenda 21 comes from!) and it bans ICLEI in Arizona! It passed the [...]

Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli (who by the way as a disclaimer I am supporting for Governor in 2013 and I have advised him of this fact!) has come out for sensible ballot access reform: “It now appears that the only two candidates that will be on Virginia’s ballot on March 6th: Governor Mitt Romney [...]

Despite President Obama’s Repeated Promises That His Health ‘Law Will Lower Premiums,’ Families And Employers Are Paying More ‘Increase In Family Premiums’ ‘Tied To Provisions Of The Federal Health Care Overhaul’ “The health-insurance premiums paid by employers rose sharply this year, with the average annual cost of family coverage passing the $15,000 mark [...]

First, you have to find the cause of the problem. A frequent scenario in the NFL is watching two players go after each other after the play is dead. Now, common sense dictates that the issue most likely began prior to attention being drawn to the fight. The referee may or may not have seen [...]

Obama was back on the Stump down in Texas and he gave us a little more insight into who the real Obama is. This is the most unpresidential president of my lifetime (and yes, that includes Jimmy Carter). He openly attacked a group of Americans questioning their legitimacy. Right now all around this country there are groups with harmless-sounding names like Americans for Prosperity, who are running millions of dollars of ads against Democratic candidates all across the country. And they don’t have to say who exactly the Americans for Prosperity are. You don’t know if it’s a foreign-controlled corporation. You don’t know if it’s a big oil company, or a big bank. You don’t know if it’s a insurance company that wants to see some of the provisions in health reform repealed because it’s good for their bottom line, even if it’s not good for the American people. Well Mr. President, you can tell a lot about who they are by …

RICHMOND (July 28, 2010) – Virginia Attorney General Ken Cuccinelli issued the following statement regarding today’s ruling by Judge Susan Bolton in the case of United States of America v. For two weeks, Democrats have attacked Republicans, and Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell in particular, for pointing out that the financial regulation bill, offered by Senate Banking Committee Chairman Chris Dodd (D-CT), doesn’t end “too big to fail” and actually allows for future taxpayer bailouts.
Before the bill came up for debate, Sen. McConnell warned, “This bill not only allows for taxpayer-funded bailouts of Wall Street banks; it institutionalizes them.” The next day, he explained, “If you need to know one thing about this bill, it’s that it would make it official government policy to bail out the biggest Wall Street banks. So if the administration is looking for bipartisan support on this Wall Street bill, they can start by eliminating this aspect of the bill — not because Republicans are asking for it, but because community bankers all across the country and American taxpayers are demanding it.”

The fact that the Washington Post got something wrong concerning Eric Cantor (R-Va) is not news. It is not shocking at all, in fact. What is both shocking and newsworthy is that they admitted they got something wrong about a Republican.
In a February 26th editorial, WaPo claimed Congressman Cantor’s “tactic” of carrying the entire, massive Health Care bill – all 2400 pages – into the Health Care Summit constituted “posturing” by the House Minority Leader. President Obama called them a “prop” during the meeting.

Bipartisanship in the true sense is an overlapping position on an issue or issues. If a bill is introduced that is broadly acceptable to most, it is a true bipartisan bill. If a number of aspects of a bill are strongly objected to by one party, like the Health “Reform” Bills in Washington, adding items that are equally objectionable to the other party just to pass the legislation is not bipartisan. It is simply a compromise. One where objectionable provisions by one party are balanced with equally objectionable provisions for the other party. Is there any way this can result in good legislation for the general public?

Bloomberg reports:
Jan. 22 (Bloomberg) — U.S. investors overwhelmingly see President Barack Obama as anti-business and question his ability to manage a financial crisis, according to a Bloomberg survey.
The global quarterly poll of investors and analysts who are Bloomberg subscribers finds that 77 percent of U.S. respondents believe Obama is too anti-business and four-out-of-five are only somewhat confident or not confident of his ability to handle a financial emergency.

In a speech marked by lies and falsehoods from Obama, SC Rep Joe Wilson had the courage to express his opinion. In a scene reminiscent of the British House of Commons, Obama calls those that have read the proposed bills and the provisions of the bill calls for “death panels”. And he calls those people liars. And the Democrats give a standing ovation the president calling Republicans liars.

For the first time since becoming president, Obama’s approval rating comes in below 50% at 49% according to the latest Rasmussen polls. His disapproval rating has risen to 51%. One of the main factors is the president’s push for nationalized health care. As details emerge, more and more people realize that the president is being less than open and honest with the American public. HE admitted to a group of liberal bloggers that he was not familiar with key provisions of the bill.
